They want to die as martyrs. These people are not rational anyway. Dead or alive they have inspired others. 3rd attack on the West in the past 2-3 months. They even hid in a forest, they basically RAN for their life. Well, you're right about that! They are cowards for killing innocent people and for running away. They were scared as fukc i'm not going to say they weren't cowards, but they said they wanted to die a martyr's death and they went out shooting at police. which means they died in battle ~defending the prophet~ or some such nonsense. so i'd say in their minds, and other fanatics minds, they did die as martyrs.
