Whispering 18,865
I can promise you that that girl is not anorexic or bulimic, nor does she eat junk food. The pic is from Oiselle's fashion show where all of the models are professional athletes. My main point was that there's a difference between being a healthy size and being fit: a fit body is defined by its performance, not its appearance. You sure about that? http://www.bulimia.com/topics/athletes/ "Eating disorders, such as anorexia or bulimia, are often found in athletes – a group in which they reach alarming rates. The sports culture, with its emphasize on optimal body size or shape for optimal performance, is many times an influencing factor in developing such a condition. Athletes are also at a higher risk than the rest of the population to suffer the harsh consequences of eating disorders. They already exercise heavily, so their bodies are depleted sooner and their health heavily tested and challenged. The high incidence of eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia, among athletes is not accidental. High-performance athletes are usually concerned with “perfection,†which is often an influencing factor in developing an eating disorder. Given these risk factors, eating disorders are much more common among athletes than among the rest of the population. A study of Division 1 National Collegiate Athletic Association athletes shows that an alarming 33 percent of female athletes have symptoms and attitudes that place them in a high-risk category for anorexia. An even more disturbing study published in 1992 by the American College of Sports Medicine reveals that 62 percent of the athletes involved in sports like figure skating and gymnastics are affected by eating disorders." That's something I'm very familiar with, but someone with an eating disorder would not be able to reach the professional level as a runner. (maybe I should have clarified that part, this is a running company.) It just doesn't happen.
Kayla 7,595
Gaga is one of those women that can lose a ton of weight and look good or gain a bunch of weight and look good. She carries her weight really well.
Kayla 7,595
I'm not sure if the term "fit" means something different where I'm from, but it's absolutely ridiculous that people here are saying she's not fit. A girl can be larger and still be fitter + healthier than the petite 50kg girl next to her. One of my old friends did not meet societal expectations of a sporting body, first look you would say she's obese. Yet she can run a football field for laps. She's on a national team of her chosen sport. Is she unfit? Absolutely not. It's the way her body is built. It's genetics. This whole thread is absolutely ridiculous and especially as a female, it's quite awful to read these comments about another who is clearly healthy + fit even by appearance. Shameful.Exactly. As someone else said, fitness is determined by performance, not appearance.

HausAlly 799
i pray she dosnt go back to the monster ball level of skinniness, because to me that was down right scary, i care about her mental state over her weight because thats what caused her problems, i never want her to be that sick again, right now she is happy with herself and so is everyone around her and thats whats important, also those of you saying that gaga should lose weight if she is to wear high fashion again r u serious??? Pity Party 743
I don't mind how much she weighs as long as she wears things that are flattering for her figure. The Aura outfit for the artRAVE made her look like a puffy box.

androiduser 7,438
its seems that pop fans always claim that the current body shape of their diva is "best she's ever looked" "healthiest" etc, no matter what they look like
doveve 526
I think a person's body shape is a hard topic. Every person's body is different. Everybody has a different genetics, history, habits, illnesses, strenghts and weaknesses. As far as I know, Gaga comes from a background where people like to eat a lot of delicious though unhealthy food. She was raised like that and she was never skinny when she was a teenager. She's used to eat a lot. Also, she's very short, which means she has to eat small portions to not gain weight and when she gains a little bit of weight, people instanty notice it. We also know that she can be really tough on herself and has some very unhealthy habits (d--gs, alcohol, cigarettes) which don't help to maintain a healthy body. Yes, she's had a really skinny body at some point of her life, but now we know that it was achieved by starving, exercising, and d--g usage. We don't know all the details about her eating habits and medical conditions now. A woman's body is immensely affected by hormones too. It's a very delicate subject and we sould respect that. I guess she's not eating the healthies food in the world, but it's better for her to be the way she is now, than the way she was when she was her skinniest. As long as she's happy in her mind, her body will be healthy too.
