Katy is Gaga's number one rival. Madonna is a legacy, and her music won't be on radio because radio is ageist after 45. Album saleswise, it's hit or miss for a popular artist after 50. Madonna doesn't have to sell more than Gaga, because they are on different planes and times of their career. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are Gaga's rivals saleswise and singleswise. Versace 7,973 Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Up to album 10 and decades she was the it girl, was iconic and strongly relevant with out forcing anything she slayed so hard for ages tbh up to 2008 after 4 minutes being her last hit things started going down hill for her I wonder why (Gaga, Katy, Kesha). I mean all her albums changed the way we perceive music except for Hard Candy and MDNA they felt too forced and basic to be as iconic as the previous 10. Rebel Heart IMO will be less basic than the previous ones due to songs like Ghosttown, she needs an album full of those. She should stop after album 14 , end her career with an album that takes an ode to her roots no pop no edm. blacklistedd 599 Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I dislike this constant criticism of what she should be doing at her age, I think shes a pop star and naturally she has to find some seamless way to stay with the trends which she hasn't done seamlessly at all with this or her previous 2 albums, Ill give detractors that. I dont like any of her work post-Confessions and I find each of these 3 "nu-Madonna" albums totally trying to pander to a younger generation shes having trouble grasping a hold of, but at the same time I don't think the criticism is in the fact that shes trying to connect with the younger demographic, its just that her execution is lame. Actually no, I for one was a huge admirer of Madonna when Gaga started out and dreamt of a collaboration until Madonna and her fans started the hate and all the attacks.
