Will Gaga's next era put her back on top?

Given the creative direction she's gone in over time, I'm going to say no.

That's not a slam on Gaga -- just gauging from the direction she's gone in since her earlier work, I just don't think that's what she wants if it means relinquishing creative control. Much of what she allowed and who she worked with to become popular left her unhappy and I would be surprised if she went back to any formula resembling that.

I suppose anything is possible and one never knows what catches on with people. I'm inclined to think that as long as her management is intact, her next era will be a little better put together than ARTPOP was. But I wouldn't hold my breath and agonize over how well it does on the charts.

Quite frankly, a lot of the stuff that manages to chart well is garbage, so I don't use it as a measuring stick.

I am a stan since The Fame.

My predictions always came out to be 100% true.

Since she announced the title of the album ARTPOP I was like "uh oh".

But now, I have a feeling that the new album will be Born this Way level of social and artistic groundbreaking evolution.

My feelings are always premonitions, so don't believe me if you want.

Your words give me hope

no, her next album will fail to slay, only selling 50,000 worldwide and shell end up having to pick up a shift at mcdonalds!!!

Probably not.

She has this "I'm too cool to do what's trendy right now" mentality which doesn't help

If she released Gypsy as the second single like her label wanted at first, it would have done better than DWUW for sure

she just wants to aim for quality, theres nothing wrong with that. if that alienates her form the lame-stream like it always has then so be it.

Gagas potential is endless but, that the problem. She has to want this next album to be a commercial success. She has to write hits again, she has to do crazy promo and get her name out there again. I'm not sure if she wants it anymore. I would love to see the next album slay. Gaga is too young to be slipping away from the mainstream. She needs to reboot her career. "music not the bling" is a cop-out. "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance" were s-xy, smart, catchy pop songs. They were creative but they were also POPULAR. She is a POP star for ****sake she better turn it around.

poker face is a terrible song. why must she be held to the standard of those songs? shes written countless better songs. shes written much better songs than bad romance too, if this fanbase wasnt too chart obsessed to see it.

and **** gaga being a pop star. shes an artist first and foremost. pop isnt what made her work great, it was her. pop was the medium, not the source of all. but shes outgrown that box now. its time to expand, not belittle your work for the masses.

Her promo team is doing a great job with C2C and she seems to have some great people working on her album. With the right music and promo I think she can put Katy and Bey to shame.

btw don't go all "you're only here for the charts" and "music not the bling" on me, I don't care if it fails or succeeds as long as the music is good, I'm just asking a question

This is what Lady Gaga can do when she puts 110% in to it. So absolutely. :coffee:

It depends on one question: will she get good video directors, stylists and marketing team?

Because the music is not the problem (if it's not old hotel lounge music that is).

The ARTPOP videos weren't bad at all and her marketing tam for C2C has been very good. Plus, she's usually looks decent,

It depends on what she wants to do. I think she tried to make something trendy with ARTPOP, and it failed on some levels. But she did the same thing with The Fame and The Fame Monster, so I guess it's really a matter of production and inspiration (which, clearly, was all over the place with ARTPOP).

Right now she seems to be in this Mariah Carey mode. She wants people to pay attention to her angelic voice and how wonderfully she hits the notes, but truthfully, if that's what she's aiming with her next album, it will be boring as hell.

The only way it can be commercially successful is if she gets properly inspired and writes relatable/humble lyrics with proper production or songs that put her in a goddess-like position alla Beyoncé. Otherwise, meh.

If she wants to be 'on top' again she has to do a LOT more work than just write a good album

Well its hard to tell at this point....but if she wants to have album that slays she need to make songs that are easy to understand, songs that dont have 1000 difrent meanings. For me ARTPOP had big problem with names and meanings of the songs only her stans could understan meanings of some songs,i mean just name of the album is hard enough to understand......BTW was straight foward....

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"
