Really? Cause some would say Dance is so 2013... We can't really know how music will progress, and what trends will dominare the charts. In fact nowadays we see a lot more indie records around than, say, 2009. Gaga's new music might very well fit some current trend (or even set the trend!) and with some luck she might very well become Mega huge, bigger than ever. This is something that could actually happen. And I'm sure this will happen because it's Gaga's destiny to be just that. It's inevitable. I certainly don't want her specifically trying to generate hits, she'll never break new ground doing that. (to other posts...) what if she makes great music yet still isn't "on top"? I think many stans are more "humiliated" by Gaga's "underperformance" than Gaga ever is. Quit worrying about stan wars and just be fans of the artist. Commericial sales is the last thing fans ought to be worried about, or any other dumb positioning of the artist in some mythical pop hierarchy. If other pop artists want to continue cranking up the cliche-o-matic and generating pop hits, let them. Gaga doesn't need to play those games. We need more "hipster-Gaga" fans... ones who would rather brag that their artist is being experimental and creative , rather than bragging about #1 hits and album sales. Gaga represents the powers of good, while Katy is pure evil. Lady Gaga is an anti-thesis to Katy Perry, Gaga is everything that Katy is not: - Gaga is talented, Katy's only talent is the size of her boobs; - Gaga is an artsy muse, Katy is grossly materialistic; - Gaga is genuine, Katy is 100% fake; - Gaga makes meaningful music, Katy sings about paper bags; etc. etc. etc. The time for revenge has come! She has to write hits again, she has to do crazy promo and get her name out there again. I'm not sure if she wants it anymore. I would love to see the next album slay. Gaga is too young to be slipping away from the mainstream. She needs to reboot her career. "music not the bling" is a cop-out. "Just Dance", "Poker Face", "Bad Romance" were s-xy, smart, catchy pop songs. They were creative but they were also POPULAR. She is a POP star for ****sake she better turn it around. Since she announced the title of the album ARTPOP I was like "uh oh". But now, I have a feeling that the new album will be Born this Way level of social and artistic groundbreaking evolution. For me she overshadows anyone else anyway doesn't matter if all people see it like that.
