Gaga slams artists who don't write and can't sing

Wait, doesn't she like Rihanna?

To my knowledge, Rihanna writes none of her own songs. She's also very hitty-missy live, depending on how well she's warmed up her voice.

It's not like they're writing the whole song, just contributing in some small way to the overall flow of the song after she's written it.

Exactly.

Elvis didn't write his songs though but he is loved by many...these type of statements always stir ****, she should refrain from making them

yes but she did it in a spiteful way

Elvis could sing great and was a killer stage performer. Gaga is simply saying that artists who are being paid millions should bring some real talent to the table other than a pretty face.

That is her opinion about a topic that she knows a lot about, and she's hardly the first person to say it. Because without one skill or the other, how can you possibly be considered a musical artist?

And regarding the fashion, come on. She will almost always say who created it, and doesn't claim to have created them.

that's what I don't get - how can a person like a manufactured product?  :flop:

and for Gaga not creating her own clothes - first of all, she is not a designer, she is a singer. and if you're titled a singer, you better be fuÑking able to sing. that's why I find nothing pretentious in what Gaga said and fully agree with her.

I'm sure the manufactured products also almost credit their writers too :giggle:

It's just kinda strange, because gaga's fashion played a HUGE role in her rise to fame. yes she has talent, but a part of her is manufactured too. That's showbiz :hor:

Now don't get me wrong, I agree with what she said. It's frustrating to see artists who have to work months and months on their projects while other just put their name and voilà. But It's showbiz, there are people who like those "products"

I agree with the part about singers that can't sing nor write. But I'm absolutely fine with singers who records songs written for them.

Where have you been? She's told us many times that there are others (often the producer) who will collaborate and contribute in making, revising or editing the lyrics to a song. She's never said she writes ALL her songs 100% herself. You need look no further than the album booklets which note every single person that contributed to the songwriting and lyrics.

omg how many times do I need to say it. To me the article made it sound like she was saying she only wrote 90% of her songs overall, as opposed to having 90% of the writing input on each song. It was an easy mistake to make because the article didn't make the distinction clear.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I would have considered you having a valid point if weird fashion was the only thing that took Gaga to stardom. but no, she demonstrated each and every time that she had talent that was as crazy as her clothes.

because she has talent, she has every right to slam so-called "artists" who sell their so-called "talents" to public.

yes she said it before like when RedOne's sugested or sung the add Ma-Ma in PF (can't really remember which on of both was  ) and she gave him credit for it .... she is just so geniue in giving credit to people she is working with and she said that if it was another musician the song it would be credited only for his/hers writting and wouldn't have added people as co-writers for such tiny things but she understands how business goes and that people get bigger % of the song if they have more credits to it so she just wants to help them as they help her making the particula song .... only gaga tbh the genuie chanteuse :flutter:

Gaga says this because she knows how hard she worked as an artist and it can be frustrating when you see someone with a pretty face and little involvement in their own career get more recognition.

Really though Christina Aguilera said that she kinda resented the fact that Britney had a record deal before her because she thought the record execs would recognize her vocal talent and sign her right away…but it didn’t happen right away.

What matters more? The talent or the performance? I was surprised and disappointed in Celine Dion for supporting lip syncing. She said so many artists do stunts in their show and it can be hard to sing. Not cool coming from such an amazing vocalist.

I am not sure who Gaga is talking about specifically but in this *social media youtube reality star world* it is important for someone to point things like this out occassionally. I know personally I am not easily entertained. There has to be something very unique and special with an artist. I don't wanna just see somebody get on stage and move their hips. I need substance!

Not necessarily, I've heard many a pop star refer to a song as theirs, even though they had no hand in writing it. And I don't recall any of them ever thanking the vocal engineers who make their voices sound palatable.

Nonetheless, Gaga's fashion has always been supplemental. First and foremost, she is a musical and vocal talent. And to the best of my knowledge, she has never referred to herself as a fashion designer.

She's 100% right, but her recent work has been far from good. Her vocals were all over the place during the ARTPOP era.

Gaga you so right and I agree wholeheartedly. theres no emotional investment in the music if its not written by the artist to me.

The ONLY person that I have ever willingly loved despite knowing they were this type of artist is Rihanna.

They were (arguably) some of her best.
