To elaborate I like how she has emphasized how she does have respect for the talented vocalist even if they don't write music, she just has disdain for a society that promotes beautiful people who can't sing or write. Luiz 4,253 Posted December 22, 2014 Share Posted December 22, 2014 i know i connect with an artist a hell of a lot more when i know the lyrics in their songs come from their own mind. the others are more like puppets to me. they didnt write the lyrics to a song, didnt choreograph the dance routine, didnt make the beat of the song and probably didnt even put on their own makeup haha. gaga writing a good portion of her own lyrics is a huge reason i started to listen to her more and became a fan. when it comes to music my first love really was hip hop though and in hip hop culture not writing your own lyrics pretty much means you're fake which is like the biggest crime in hip hop so i'm biased i guess on this kind of thing but i honestly enjoy a good puppet show too so w/e. If a pretty girl has literally ZERO musical talent, why would you sign her as a musical artist? The only reason is for the label to make money and that is disgusting. The number one reason a song is written or recorded should never be to make a profit. Gaga's defending her belief that if you're going to be a singer, you have to actually SING. It's common sense. Well she must be referring to somebody... and it's pretty obviously Katy. It doesn't have to be one particular person, it's probably many and an overall consensus.
