Emvee 8,500
Who are all of these forum fans trying to dictate whether Gaga, a woman they have never met, is grown up or open minded enough? You're imbeciles for trying to generalize a person's true thoughts and intents based off of youtube videos. I would say she is being more outspoken, though. It's a fact, not some drawn out assumption about character like some of you are doing.
SpaceAce 1,058
Exactly, this is what I was trying to say as well. I think it's an interesting issue because she was such a fascinating, larger-than-life persona during the first three eras and it did suck to watch that fall apart in such an inglorious way this past year and a half. But at the same time that wasn't really sustainable because that persona/armor that she wore only really worked for a young, fresh pop star. She may never be that fascinating again but her maturation this year could lead to some really incredible, deep music, and I think her confronting her demons and (hopefully) overcoming them will lead to her being more confident than ever in a way. The transition has been really rocky but I think it'll be worth it big time when we get the next album + era. I'm expecting real greatness I feel the same way. Right now is a super exciting time to be a fan. Who are all of these forum fans trying to dictate whether Gaga, a woman they have never met, is grown up or open minded enough? I don't mind people making assumptions but a lot of fans feel like they know her personally and everything that goes on behind the scenes. This would be Gaga if she read this thread. Nobody knows everything Gaga has experienced and all the considerations she must deal with day to day throughout her career. People are in no position to judge Gaga. Consider this: What she does as a person is far more important than all the songs she has written or will write. While people bicker about her singles and videos, Gaga is helping thousands worldwide in significant ways. While people fret over her albums, Gaga is saving lives. While people argue about genres, Gaga is spreading and encouraging kindness and compassion. While people complain about her eras, Gaga is inspiring art and creativity in young people. In the things that really matter in life, Gaga doesn't change. Her kindness and her quest to help people are built into who she is as a person. I live outside the space time continuum. Toph 375
She thinks the world is such a negative place now, and everyone is out to get her when in reality no one even cares and the world isn't any more negative just because of the internet. She also has said that by doing a jazz album with a "legend" she was able to finally be free and that Tony Bennett somehow saved her, but she could have done an album like this the whole time, without some man who covers songs his entire life, and still have the same reaction from people. Aside from that, everything she said in 2008-2011 is now complete bull**** because back then she used to say she was so happy to finally be free and be able to make the electronic/pop/dance music that she's always wanted to. ouch. stopped reading there. ByeBye49 161
She may have displayed her insecurities a little more with this album cycle but how can this be a bad thing? Would you rather her act tough? You cant grow as a person if you're putting up a front and avoiding your true feelings. This.
TheOriginalOne 10,959
Some of you are way exaggerating Gagas "insecurities". And what really happened is that she quit putting on an act and became a real person. Many pop fans dont like real people in pop though, they prefer fantasies.
