XoXoJoanneGaga 629
everyone always says that but usually when you 'grow up' you should mature and become a better version of yourself, not become an uncontrollably insecure and narrow-minded individual. Agreed, but maybe she's always been insecure and narrow-minded on certain things (her laughable views on social media) but she was just better at hiding it before. She has said that she was always insecure deep down even at her peak, I think the difference was that back then she had outer confidence, whereas this past year she had neither. She hasn't grown up for real yet, she will when she gains true confidence in herself and her work on a deep level. Maybe with the next era.

XoXoJoanneGaga 629
She just used to seem so self-aware and very particular with certain decisions. I haven't seen that attitude from her since 2010 really Yeah back then she definitely had a real finger on the pulse of pop culture and had a very specific vision for her career, but I think she was still really insecure back then regardless. She just had the amazing outer confidence/armor, and she had an amazing team around her. It all fell apart during ARTPOP and she absolutely wasn't herself, she even said so recently that with Cheek to Cheek she was finally feeling like herself again and that she had the fire back. I think with the next era we'll get the confident, driven Gaga back but this time more secure and mature on a deep level.
RAMROD 109,563
So many things happened in her life. She didn't just change because she gets older. But the process of getting there are what changing her, the way she see the world. She learns what showbiz is a little better now and perhaps loathes how it runs. She learns with ARTPOP that not all of her fans are that supportive and they only did when it is beneficial for them. The same with how she must approach people in Industry. She expressed that nobody of her team but close ones went to see her in hospital when she had the hip surgery. I suppose this moment is the last straw for her? So she just wanted to keep the ones that she can trusts and not gonna exploit her. That's just my two cents. Shitwrecked 183
Right. She is completely different now. Watching interviews from 2009, it's scary how much she's changed. The voice and personality.
aaronyoji 2,054
i dont necessarily think the cons are true, at least not anymore. maybe during the ARTPOP era it was quite present that she was very paranoid and self concsious, but i think now with tony she is in such a moment of bliss. Pain of fame1 229
True. She changed both physically and mentally, and i think for bad. Everything started mid/late2011 when she was exhausted after a long promo era with lots of blackash from the media and the GP. Her parents were worried as she hd struggles with food. She started smoking pot a the time and writing songs for ARTPOP. Then 2012 came with the hardest world tour she had ever done. She wasn't physically fit ans she became addicted to d--gs and this led into a big depression and a hip injury later in 2013. Everything got worse in 2013 as people who she though they were hee friends, betrayed her and didnt support her during her injury. Also, she couldnt perform for months and became REALLY depressed and addicted to pot and alcohol. She started injecting facial fillers and did a small nose job when she wasnt really in the best frame of her mind. In this conditions, she had to start a whole new era and after some months of hiding **** from us, we finally got to know what was happening: troy abandoned her, the APP, volantis and lots of projects werent ready yet and a lot more. She is just trying to he happy know and im okay with this era as long as we get pop music from her (all the songs she promised in 2012: tea, red flame..) mic 1,415
She just can afford now to alienate herself from pop music. FameGa would never "don't feel like making music anymore" even for short period. At the end of the day she is a multi millionaire now having great calm years ahead. Music right now is just a addition to it, not the ultimate goal. she has her depression problems so it's not gonna be fast till she recovers, look at britney. giskardsb 12,565
Some of you are way exaggerating Gagas "insecurities". And what really happened is that she quit putting on an act and became a real person. Many pop fans dont like real people in pop though, they prefer fantasies. SpaceAce 1,058
I think it's safe to say she's had enough of being treated like a commodity and not an artist. Women in pop music are only worth as much as they can sell. This is so much more difficult in Gaga's case because she's so unwilling to conform to the industry's standards and work with top producers who may be unwilling to let her be her true creative self. I think people are taking her words on electronic music a little too literally. She's basically spoken out about how she doesn't like what it has turned into and she doesn't appreciate having her work and voice meddled with. This doesn't mean she's not proud of her music or doesn't enjoy making it. She's been performing electronic pop music on tour for 5 years straight with little break - it's safe to say she loves it. Regarding her "legend" comments about Tony - people may have missed the part where she describes his character and how the things that make him a legend have provided her with a lot of comfort and hope. Working with someone of his stature (60yrs in the industry) and class must be very inspiring to her - especially when you consider how discouraged she has been. I don't know how some people are able to interpret her comments about Tony as shallow when they're far from it. They have a real friendship where she looks up to him and he gets the chance to foster a young talent. Gaga really is a young talent - despite how iconic many of us like to view her as. Creatively, she still has ways to go and I don't think she has tapped into her full potential yet. I think she knows this too, which is also why she values working with Tony so much. She may have displayed her insecurities a little more with this album cycle but how can this be a bad thing? Would you rather her act tough like she used to during the first three album cycles or let herself feel the emotions and actually become tougher? You cant grow as a person if you're putting up a front and avoiding your true feelings. But that's just my opinion.

You cant grow as a person if you're putting up a front and avoiding your true feelings. TRUTH. And truth is: we LOVE it when Gaga is real, honest, transparent and vulnerable... It's what helps us fans understand her better as an artist and human being.. and we feel more connected to her. Honestly - if y'all think she has changed so much after the age of 26 - wait until after she turns 30... She's 28 right now, turning 29 in a few months.. which means she is in the thick of her Saturn Return. She will be a completely changed person afterwards, in her 30s... I've been through it myself and have seen how people really grow up, transform and mature when they reach that age... She's not a teenager anymore. She's not 23 anymore. deal with it. You cant grow as a person if you're putting up a front and avoiding your true feelings. But that's just my opinion. Exactly, this is what I was trying to say as well. I think it's an interesting issue because she was such a fascinating, larger-than-life persona during the first three eras and it did suck to watch that fall apart in such an inglorious way this past year and a half. But at the same time that wasn't really sustainable because that persona/armor that she wore only really worked for a young, fresh pop star. She may never be that fascinating again but her maturation this year could lead to some really incredible, deep music, and I think her confronting her demons and (hopefully) overcoming them will lead to her being more confident than ever in a way. The transition has been really rocky but I think it'll be worth it big time when we get the next album + era. I'm expecting real greatness
