Nah...Daft Punk came back after 7 years and see what happened. Adele's last album was in 2011, and it's 2014. If the music is unique at the moment of its release (except some cases) then it'll be a hit. But there are many other factors too.

On topic: yes I think it is too long and she probably won't be #1 anymore, however she needs that half year to rest. In mid 2015 she will already start recording the album. What else can we want?

There is nothing long with long breaks, the greatest artists have done the same. The problem is that if you wait as long as she did to release ARTPOP and the album is something you would think she made in the space of a month....then you have a big problem!

but she has had a lot of negative Backlash since the Born This Way era and it got worse during the ARTPOP era and C2C is not neccessary fixing her image to the world, to them she is still the girl who flopped with ARTPOP, underperformed with BTW and hasn't done anything shocking or interesting since then

What's so hard to understand about the fact that c2c is repairing her image by proving Gaga as honest and talented?

Regardless of that, if you count ARTPOP then c2c counts because it's more successful and has charted longer.

Take Beyonce - her PR with Pepsi & H&M etc weren't relevant to 4 or the "Beyonce" album. They were relevant to her brand because she is the brand. It's the same with Gaga except she actually has an album at the same time.

Christina lived in Britney's shadow. Gaga lived in no ones shadow. She had 3 enormous years, and started to fade a little. Britney peaked with oops, but still managed to rebound-ish. The same will happen for gaga.

Let's be serious, you could say gaga and Katy are the Britney/Christina of the 00s, but katy can't stand up to the sheer force gaga was, could be, and will be again.

You guys are so needy and greedy when it comes to what Gaga does. Threads like these are irritating. She's not making a mistake by taking a break. All of her albums have been acknowledged by the GP and the exaggeration of 'how bad' ARTPOP's sales were is something you'd only see on pop forums or Tumblr :roll: ARTPOP's sales were on par with every other album that was released. I fail to see how it 'flopped' but then managed to produce a high grossing tour. 

 

If the GP wasn't interested in her then ARTPOP wouldn't have even gone #1. Same goes for Cheek to Cheek. The amount of whining on this forum is out of hand It's like you think she's some robot who's supposed to chug out an album every year. She's allowed to take breaks.

 

I swear, some of ya'll actin' like you'll stop listening to her forever since she's not releasing an album next year but we all know you'll be back here kissing her ass when the news of her next album drops

I think the break from Marry the night video and Applause was awful. It was almost 2 years with no songs/videos released.In 2010 she didn't release any album but she made 2 songs singles (Telephone and Alejandro), she wore that meat dress and announced Born this way.Right now, she's just singing jazz, which imo is good for her but bad for the ones who are waiting for pop album.She hasn't done anything iconic in the ARTPOP era and that's not bad, because the album is not that provocative (well besides the SXSW) 

I think that once C2C tour is over, it will all start to fit correctly.
