KillMeSarah 0
Hello! I've been making costumes for Halloween since I was a little kid, cosplaying since 2003, and creating Gaga looks since 2010. I am not a professional, but I have a lot of experience under my belt (most of which is trial and error, tbh). I love making Lady Gaga costumes and wearing them around Japan for her concerts, the frequent Gaga parties held in Roppongi, Halloween and occasional performances. I'm going to start with my "****ty" costumes first. Meaning- the stuff I didn't spend very much time on, or stuff I kind of just threw together. I will move onto the more complicated stuff as I have time to add to this post ^^ Before I tried to copy an actual Gaga costume or look, I just ran around in Gaga-style makeup. On Halloween, I attempted ZOMBIE GAGA, don't ask why I didn't get a wig >_< I know it looks like crap.... People at least recognized the lightening bolt, and I was running through Shibuya screaming "aaagghhhhh PA PA PA POKER FACE agggh!" ... I legit scared the crap out of some people. My first actual costume attempt was still somewhat lazy, this Gaga "closet cosplay" Basically, it was just a hood with wig and makeup. I wore this to the very first Lady Gaga night party I attended in Japan. After the party I knew I was hooked, and decided I wanted to make lots of stuff! Since it was summer and very hot, this is what I ended up wearing to the next Gaga party.... O M G please ignore the sweat! I was wearing very high pantyhose, which quickly got covered in sweat from doing the Telephone dance multiple times. I met another foreigner at the party, but have yet to see her again.. and some Japanese fans too, not really in "costumes" tho... The girl on the right of me is either a **** star or smut model or something.. I've seen her nude pics on the internet xD When I found out the Monster Ball was coming to Japan, I decided to go hardcore and make something really amazing. I put all my effort and hours of work into this costume.... Thierry Mugler "Origami" dress! Awkward train photo!! This dress was one piece. I couldn't sit (well) and I couldn't use the bathroom without taking it completely off! hahahahahahha but it was a big hit! My friend made a video to commemorate the experience of our first Monster Ball <3 http://youtu.be/GGl27SdDLrU <--Sorry, I can't figure out how to embed videos here..... I wore the dress to Harajuku a few months later.. and took some photos with Japanese fashonistas <3 The above photos are called "Purikura" and are very popular in Japan. I'm surprised Gaga herself has never taken any! (She would probably get mobbed on the way in and out, tbh) I hope you enjoyed round 1! Much MUCH more to come, as I am just getting started <

Quartz 11,923
:worship2: Really amazing  You have a beautiful figure btw. :heat: How long did it take you to make these? (espacially the origami dress) And how much did it cost you? Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊
KillMeSarah 0
Thank you guys! How long did it take you to make these? (espacially the origami dress) And how much did it cost you? It took me AGES to make this- around 150 hours! I believe I was the first person to make this dress.. I wasn't able to find anyone else who made one before me, so I pretty much only had Gaga's dress as an example. I had no idea what it was made from so I decided to go with foamie, rather than paper. Pulling out some old progress shots from 2 years ago... First I had to trace loads and loads of these. After that I had to cut them. Then glue them. My fingers were so incredibly sore after this! After all that work, I had to paint them... Which also took ages. I wish I could have gotten the exact gold tones and texture hers had... oh well! Last, I had to attach the damn things to the dress. And then I kept it on a suitcase, because it's the only place that would keep it up! You cannot hang this up! haha Since then I've made the same style white dress, and the Poker Face costume with crystals like this. I'll post pics of those soon ^^

KillMeSarah 0
Wow, you have too much time on your hands I can't even see myself doing something remotely that hard. I'll just give up. Props  Well, I was back in the states between semesters (I teach English in Japan) so I had nothing but time. Between semesters is really the only time I have to make costumes anymore, since I don't have the energy/motivation to do them when I'm working Mon-Fri. SPEAKING OF PROPS...... I made a disco stick to go with my costumes! It lights up, too ^^ I also made a few pairs of the The Fame crystal glasses... maybe I'm up to 3 pairs, I can't remember. I used the same type of crystals for the disco stick and the glasses. They are available at Michaels, and the glasses are available cheap on eBay. Someday, I would like to find pinhole glasses that are the same style and cut as Gaga's.. I made a gun bra.. But haven't worn this one anywhere, yet (just in this photo). This one has the handles attached still. The second gun bra I made is Alejandro style, with no handles. I will post my Alejandro looks in the next update. I made a very crappy mirror mask that I plan on remaking, as I want it to be shiny, not matte. I haven't worn it anywhere and this is the only pic that exists, thank god xD I made some bunny ears... Love these, have the materials to make more in all different colors of lace. Lastly, I forgot about this. It's pretty much another closet cosplay xD Most of the time was spent trying to keep the damn cans in my hair. Anyone who's tried this look knows what I mean. I found that canned coffee cans (sold in Japan only, maybe?) are much easier to work with, as they are thinner and smaller. I used them for my friend's hair on Halloween, as she did the Telephone prison look. Will post those pics soon too!

KillMeSarah 0
Omg this is beyond cool!! the Mugler dress! OMFG!!! my eyes had an orgasm xD oooo nice! lol You sure are amazing. I wish I could do all that stuff. Hey! I wanna see more!! Thank you very much!! So, I will show you more xD For Halloween 2 years ago, I decided to do the Poker Face video look. I "made" my friend do the Telephone look... hehehehe Here we are waiting for the train... Here's my friend at the convenient store... I did her hair, even tho it's not the right color, I think the cans look great. I made the glasses, bought the chains, and drew on her tattoo. She borrowed my shoes and wore some random clothes (I was too lazy to make the actual outfit, tbh, and she can't sew) BADDASS <3 I can't wait to dress her up again! Here's my friends wearing the Telephone glasses And another of my bunny ears. As for my Poker Face costume- YAY more Origami ^^ I opted for a two piece suit, instead of making a one piece catsuit. I bought the pants and seriously altered the top. It used to have a hood and sleeves =p My bracelet in this pic is crap (I threw it out by the end of the night) I later remade the bracelet and I made the hat too I don't really like the hat, though :rollsweat: I wore this again at Ohayocon and to a Gaga party in Japan Sexy Jesus is s-xy. And that's it for now! Much more to come ^^
