What was your status with G.U.Y. before it became a single?

2nd favorite song off the album. I mean, just hear that pre-chorus

I liked it pretty well. I never considered it a standout track on the album or anything. I thought the chorus was too repetitive. I took a greater liking to it after I saw the choreography and the video! Still not my favorite song on the album or one of my favorite Gaga songs, but I do like it.

Edit: I did however LOVE the "guy" metaphor. I thought it was an incredibly clever idea.

Didn't expect it to be a single at all. I was hoping for GYPSY for the holidays, followed by ARTPOP or even Donatella or Fashion with a fun video.

When I first heard it I thought it was purely amazing. I remember replaying it so many times a few days after ARTPOP came out, and to this day it's still my favorite on the album. I feel like sadly it never got the praise it deserved, and sometimes I blast it in my car at full volume and think "why on earth wasn't this song a smash?" it sucks. So yeah, I kinda love GUY

I swooned when we first got the snippet. The production was lush and Gaga sounded so cool. And when we got the full song I thought the bit with "I don't need to be on top to know I'm worth it" was just divine.

Despite enjoying it as an album track I immediately dismissed it as a single. I had issues with the lyrics and subject matter and I would never have chosen it for radio.

But everyone's enthusiasm convinced me to think again. And now I really think it was the best choice despite not being my fave. I think it sounds better than Venus, although Venus is much better lyrically (just imo) and I think it was safer than Sexxx Dreams and Aura, my other faves.

Well anyway those were my thoughts.

I loved it when I heard it at the ITunes Festival. On the album it's better than some other songs, but isn't a song I come back to. Looking back, the video didn't help it with the other songs as intros, almost really overshadowing the actual song by the time it came on in the video. It kid of diluted it, I think. It is a little dated of a song, but has strong energy.

It was my favorite song off of ARTPOP. As a year has gone by, I don't know if it's kept that position, but it's still one of my preferred tracks off of the album. I still know the GUY choreo too

I loved it, and when we got the snippet I was SO EXCITED! I hoped it would become a single, and it did and I was so happy! Sadly it wasn't a hit, but I still love it. It's not my fave from the album (DWUW is), but it is one of my faves.
