How is anyone, on either side of this debate, making assumptions so early on? Let people do their job, let them investigate, we will see the video sooner or later. Jeez.

Don't believe this, for starters it's not even Christmas Eve yet in the US, that's tonight and the article says it happened then

Also, I can't at the african-americans playing the victim here, I guess they haven't figured out they are the ones who keep racism alive by constantly drawing attention to their colour, history and the fact they are still different... Maybe if they'd start to see themselves as equal things would get better... It's not like the kid was shot cuz he's black, he probably did something that warranted it, if this had been a white kid it wouldn't blow up in the media and his skin colour wouldn't matter,, it's them that make this all about race

You're making an "early" assumption that the cop was just doing their job

police men who aren't racist

So you are asking if police men who are not racist will stand up to those who are, or face being clumped in with those who are?

I don't think that a ton of police men themselves are necessarily outwardly racist, but rather that institutionalized racism runs absolutely rampant in the crime department (on both sides of the equation --enforcement and perpetration), hence Profiling and nationally instilled, reinforced stigma towards black people.

(Things like --- looking shady, "must be up to trouble because they are shady AND black"... unnecessary force out of misplaced fear that a black person specifically will go for your gun, ignorant disregard for life and media perception of black youth as "Thugs"... and possibly a lack of proper training when dealing when agitated detainees, hence overreactions  )

Typically when people get upset at a group, despite the group not thinking or behaving the same, those mislabeled members of the group take it personally and try to deflect a serious problem into a matter of #NotAll___, which hurts the point that needs to be made. If you aren't one of those people who... in this case... is a racist policeman, all you have to do is NOT be racist and you aren't a part of that group. Behind offended or profiled as possibly racist won't get you killed. Its not a comparable level of "uncomfortableness" :madge:

REGARDLESS of whether he did or didn't do something, this is an 18 YEAR OLD CHILD who was taken away from his family ON CHRISTMAS EVE. Do you not get that? How would you feel if that was your sibling? Do you need this situation to be all bout you to feel some sort of sympathy?

oh okay interesting. Thanks for clearing things up!

My father is police main officer and he is by far no racist. (Well institiutionalized racism among the police doesn't exists here anyway, at least not where I live) But nevertheless some people write or scream ACAB (All Cops are Bastards) and that totally includes racist and non-racist tbh.

It is literally past 12 am in every time zone in America sis :awkney: Kind of wondering if you actually live there or if you are trolling... or maybe you just are simply behind on the time

@ your second comment... so far we have information that says that he did not get on the ground when the police officer asked him. That is not grounds for a fatal shooting, MAYBE not even a warning shot, Police should be trained in detaining individuals without resorting to lethal force -- he could have tazed him or something else... Also the reports saying that ambulances were not immediately called... At least look up things

While I'm at it, we dont even know if him and his friend were actually robbers, or if they were simply being profiled. It happens a lot more than you think. I've personally been "suspected" of being a criminal the last 2 times I was pulled over and they checked my name and ID, but no one else in the car...

and each time it was very obvious that I wasn't the person they were looking for (im ****ing 5'1, 5'2 and there are very few black people that height around here :lmao: that on top of looking NOTHING like the perpetrator... :smh:)

no, it's attitudes like this that get the concept of racism removed from this society, they can't play the race card everytime something bad happens if they want to eveyone to consider them as equals, they place themslves apart from the rest of society through these reactions
