I think you'll find what ACTUALLY would happen, is that the white guy would be hailed as a hero, a man who served his country and would be discussed all over the world. The black guy would probably be portrayed in the media as a terrorist or part of a gang or other violent organisation, please do not be delusional. That's the way the world works. They're just having something to riot about and ruin their city. They could have done it peacefully, but what happened was completely disgusting. You are racist, I am racist, pretty much everybody here is racist to a degree without even realising. We've grown up conditioned into this mindset that whites have privilege. A verdict was reached. End of story. It's disgusting how they're demanding special attention and privilege by pulling the race card. Hi straight male weighing in on all of this. You're white, yes? I'm just guessing so because you're displaying what is known generally as 'straight white male privilege'. Sorry if you are in fact a person of colour, you just seem like you feel very entitled. First of all, sorry if news of the injustice is being covered by social media. Protesters generally are protesting for a reason. Something as unjust as this would spark a reaction like this, when this injustice isn't just about the death of a black person but of the day to day injustice that these people face everyday. So yeah, my apologies if their reaction is being covered by the news and people on your facebook. So, you want them to sit down? Ok. An 18 year old's body left in the street for over four hours after being shot six times. How about we all sit down, anybody want some tea, some cake? 'A verdict was reached. End of story.' ah yes us white folk can all go back to our privile- OOPS sorry we can all go back to our difficult lives and move on to the next story. And furthermore, HOW DARE these people ask for equalit- OOPS haha sorry, my mistake again, how dare these blacks asks for privilege over the white police where they live. How dare they! Every day injustice happens and these people want change?! How disgusting. .... I really hope you understand my sarcasm. Yes, looting and destruction is irresponsible. I understand completely and I hope the people in Ferguson who are vandalising and such are charged non-violently and that the victims of the protests are helped. I honestly really really do. However, for YOU, a person who has not experienced racial inferiority, to be a spokesperson for all these people and telling them to take a seat and calm down is laughable. Am I a spokesperson? Nah. The difference between you and me is I can look outside my own bubble and appreciate that there are people who are not as fortunate as I am. Racism IS an issue. You know why they need 'special attention'? Because they face injustice every day. I think you can deal with the news coverage for a week or so until the media moves on like you suggest. Sorry for my sarcasm but it worries me that people do not understand that life is different in a place where racial inequality is more prominent.
