I actually agree with the verdict. :fat: It's not like he was some completely innocent person or something. He ROBBED a store.....and there's evidence he used force with the officer and tried to gain control of his gun.

Did he deserve to die? No, but it ended up being an unfortunate consequence of his actions. Maybe he just should not have robbed that store. I don't think a police officer should spend years in jail for defending himself against someone like this.

How can you discredit 8 eye witnesses and two of the most accomplished independant forensics of the Unites States. He did NOT rob a store, the store manager repeatedly said that Michael Brown did not steal ANYTHING and was already confirmed by Police officials as a cover up. The only misconduct he did was JAYWALKING. There was a struggle appearently, but honestly TWO ARMED members of an institution known to have close relations to the KKK chasing you down would me make me want to fight to get away as quickly as possible too.

Two workable things to address the problem:

1) Have cameras on police officers, both to protect them against slander and the public against brutality.

2) Abolish or limit the enforcement of a lot of petty crimes that police enforce disproportionately against young  black males. I have sympathy for some black kid who got arrested for pot possession or some petty traffic offense because of racial profiling in stop and search. But not for thugs who rob stores and assault the police.

How can you deny this was unfair? He shot him 6 times and called it "self-defense".

About the riot... most of them are stupid as ****. Why would you set fire to a place where your own people work at? I know they must be angry but they are not affecting the cop who did it or the court, they are affecting innocent people and themselves.

It seems like the only ones who really want to change things are the peaceful protesters.

Shooting unarmed teens just doesn't sit well with me. I wanna quote too many people on here but I honestly don't have the energy to start a huge debate right now.

This^^

Also- It's not the color of their skin that infuriated me about last night, it was their f***ing behavior. Cops have to go in there and try to preserve the peace and know if they do their job this could happen? I stayed out of this thread for too long but considering that the average age of users on here is between 16-18 I am not surprised at the lack of knowledge regarding the situation, just a lot of regurgitation of opinions already blabbered by the media which is what they wanted in the first place to make the story bigger and fuel the rage.

That's part of the reason I haven't really given my opinion on the matter. There's SO MUCH hearsay on both sides, I don't even know what to believe anymore.  :duck:

The public is so outraged by this situation because it goes against the norm of we are used to. Let's say that the police officer wasn't so aggressive and Brown knocked him down and got hold of his gun and shot him. Would anyone be like "OMG a black dude shot a white police officer?!?! :udidnt: " It would go unnoticed except in the local media. But turn it around where a white police officer shoots a black guy for what doesn't appear to be enough of a reason to shoot, and you get a national media frenzy and hundreds of rioters.......and people feeling the need to pull the race card as a factor on why he was shot. :fat:

A black guy shooting a white guy would NOT go unnoticed. I think you'll find what ACTUALLY would happen, is that the white guy would be hailed as a hero, a man who served his country and would be discussed all over the world. The black guy would probably be portrayed in the media as a terrorist or part of a gang or other violent organisation, please do not be delusional. That's the way the world works.

It's not about 'pulling the race card'. It's so easy for you to say that as a white person. So, so easy. You are racist, I am racist, pretty much everybody here is racist to a degree without even realising. We've grown up conditioned into this mindset that whites have privilege. I bet you get tired of hearing black people complaining about their inequality, right?

Ok, I'm finna need all these loud ass residents of Ferguson to sit DOWN and get off my TV, timeline, and newsfeed. A verdict was reached. End of story. It's disgusting how they're demanding special attention and privilege by pulling the race card.
