Mariano 958
BTW is Gaga's best album and during the BTW era we had more appearances, interviews, performances, photoshoots etc. than any pop star EVER in a single era BTW album and era are flawless
artRaver 3,188
I don't think people actually hated Born This Way, but instead they let the chartings, GP, and other stans/trolls from other fan bases influence their opinion on it a bit too easily. Same goes for ARTPOP as well. Then again... I could be wrong. ✿ cherry blossom girl ✿
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
The era was quite messy coming off the flawlessness of TF+M so I understand the frustration at the time. ARTPOP really put into perspective how great BTW was though.
Vernier 3,786
Born This Way got a lot of hate in 2011 and 2012. The reason why we don't see as much hate anymore is because those people aren't around as much anymore. They've moved on. All that's left are people who loved or at least liked BTW.This. The era got dragged a lot towards the tail end and pre-ARTPOP. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
Memo 176
Aint nobody got time to hate on BTW in 2014. Its ARTPOP's turn :food: Then during the Monster 4 Life era everyone will trash the album and praise ARTPOP :food: That's the monster cycle :food: You also forgot when everyone gets amnesia and suddenly this hate-current-album-praise-the-previous-one practice is nonexistent :food:
Batwings 12,882
There was more BTW hate before the ARTPOP era began I think, but now I almost never see any Yep. During the BTW era, fans b---hed and complained, and now, they act like it was the best era ever.
Ladey Gagz 2,512
The only hate it gets is from the cover album and the TEOG MV
Matti 91
BTW was the first era that I experienced in full, so it has a very special place in my heart. The music, the outfits, even the single choices... Everything was pitch perfect for my taste.* There are always people who complain and when you read that it seems like it is the prevailing opinion, but I think 99% of gaga fans like or are at least fine with BTW. *Except of course for the TEoG music video which was rushed and atrocious. shane_c 480
Its not hate for the era, its that people think it turned off the GP and is what led to her decline in popularity. It made her seem preachy and too gay. You can like the BTW era and still think it hurt her career.
mirandasings 08 0
Yes. The Born This Way ball was better than TMB as well. Born This Way performances>>>Born This Way as an album>>>>Born This Way in everything>>>>TFM has three great videos, a couple good performances and nostalgia from when Gaga was an interesting and mysterious breakout star.Born This Way was just so diverse and interesting. It was such a change from the slick pop-perfect image she had cultivated before. Her vocals and performance skills where at it's peak and from BTW to You and I it is her most diverse era yet, and the one (other than C2C) which strays away from that popstar image more than any other era.BTW is a decent album but is nothing compared to TFM. TFM has way better music videos, looks, performances, vocals, music, success, everything than BTW. The BTW era was a huge mess. I was a fan during that time and the singles choices and everything was very messy, but fortunately she made it through the era. The same can't be said for ARTPOP.TFM is her best work to date. Even Gaga recognizes this.

Bebe 17,093
BTW is a decent album but is nothing compared to TFM. Even Gaga recognizes this. I can't at you saying the vocals were better on TFM Obviously we are talking about something very subjective, but imo looks, performances, vocals, music was faaaaarrr better in the BTW era. **** success. The best thing about BTW is the fact that album highlights aren't even the singles released. That's usually a good indicator for an awesome piece of work. With Born This Way she was able to do a lot more than she could during TF/TFM. She couldn't have released a song and video like You and I where she was a mermaid in nebraska and dressed in drag. She didn't have amazing vocal songs like TEOG. The Born This Way ball was far superior to the Monster Ball. I'm sorry, but it seems to me like most TFM stans are stuck in the fame/success whirlwind of TFM that was a result of her being a breakout star doing something different at the time. I loved being a stan during TFM, and the videos are clearly the best work of hers, but other than that BTW destroys TFM. It is far more diverse and a lot more interesting. GHGUY 230
BTW was her most genius album yet. It truly was ahead of its time (perhaps not sonically, but I feel thematically, lyrically, and politcally). Furthermore, a lot of the songs I feel would do well on the radio today despite not being well received back then. Thus, when Gaga releases her next solo pop album I rather it tops BTW than TF/TFM. As a fan what I hated about the BTW era wasnt the album (music), outfits, performances, or tour but rather the fact that it was the begining of the end of her amazing management team. Starting with Judas is where her management team started making poor single and promo choices. I still cant get over the fact that Sheiße wasnt the second single...or any single for that matter. I just feel that its been quest for Gaga to get the right management after Judas and after a series of unfortunate events (mainly hip injury, firing troy just before album release and series of d--g addiction/depression episodes and long blackouts) she is trying to figure things out with her management. Hopefully Gaga is in a better place mentally and physically and with Bobby on her management team and promising promo/sales/reception from C2C there may be hope for Gaga to recover yet. Plus I think the GP is truly starting to get sick of KP and acknowledges that Gaga has true talent and isn't a madonna ripoff.... so I feel that all these factors are now starting to play in Gaga's favor. blacklistedd 599
Its an aggressively loud album both conceptually and production wise. She was at such a high stature I think she assumed everyone would just jump on board no question but they questioned and at the end of the day not everyones going to be down with that much musical gaudiness. I thought the album was dope for the most part though and I like her visual concepts at least at the start of the era. She almost reminded me of that chick from The Cramps in certain moments, I could tell parts of the album referenced 80s punk and goth and that shined through in parts of its visual story as well. To anyone that is replying that there is a lot of love for BTW, there is a lot of love for BTW now. Just saying. Exactly. At the time it felt more criticized than ARTPOP. Wet Fire 7,404
Lol everyone's acting like BTW faced no hate from this fanbase. The truth is some monster used to complain about the era and hate it during 2012-13. But when ARTPOP 'flopped' they were like "Omg BTW era was so good!!"
