ChicaSkas 23,069
The answer to your question is that most of them are kids or teens or young adults who cannot see the long term picture. In the long run, Lady Gaga's career is undoubtedly cemented in pop culture history for most of the past 6 years. The future will be nothing but bright for her. Huge hits that have sunk into the permanent public consciousness, such as Just Dance, Paparazzi, Born This Way, and most notably, Bad Romance, will assure her of permanent places in radio slots and ultimately in history books. Sia 314
Why can't some monsters be happy just because Gaga is happy? MonsterSK 0
I just want her to be popular again... Other fanbases will stop laughing with us if that happens, like the KatyCats (ignoring little fanbase).

bumblebee 2,528
The budget of her videos and performances is the last thing people should worry about. This girl used to put most of her income into her shows till she went bankrupt with Monster Ball Theater tour production. She made over $30M over the past year according to Forbes, and her net worth is alleged to be over $100M. With those money she can afford herself high-budget videos and performances knowing her commitment to her artistry

djBuffoon 12,120
Personally idgaf what other fanbases think of us/gaga they can go suck on a grammy Seriously, like who the F*CK cares? Do we really need proof that Gaga is superior to those other (mostly) hacks? I'd guess maybe half this fan base though fell in love with an avatar, a persona, a character.... the particular version of Gaga from 2008-2010. Gaga's problem is that she came out in her Ziggy Stardust persona, and a large portion of fans don't want her moving away from it. This is also true. djBuffoon 12,120
wait, what? are u kidding? :D you just doesnt have a clue. Britney always was innovative with her music and her shows. She took many risks, so dont say she is not moving out of her save zone. Something like that makes me really angry With all due respect, is there any reason to believe that Britney is responsible for the songs, videos, creative direction, etc? Seems to me that she's always basically done what she was told.

They are idiotic and the realm of small minds, group think, and pitiful needs for self validation. Don't participate. Nobody here needs validation from Katycats or any other fanbase to enjoy Gaga. PopBitch 1,218
She will have a career as long as she wants. Gagas career is not defined simply by her being the top pop girl. Her fans seem to have more need for her to be the hbic than she actually does. A career is not defined by how much you can spend on videos. Gagas career will be spent as a multifaceted entertainer. By the end she will be much more Liza and Babs and Cher than Madonna or Britney. To put Madonna with Britney as far as careers to me is mind-boggling. Madonna has had a huge career, not just mainstream pop, as cited already by some of us on here with examples of other albums she has made which were never safe mainstream pop as she evolved. I would never consider Ray of Light pop. And the visual artistry she combined as far as music videos with her music has been unparalled. She did do a play. And she did have some successful movies, but ultimately became too aware of herself and it hindered her acting compared to earlier where she showed a lot of promise, and it never took off past after that except in the musical Evita. In D ick Tracy, which was a success with her in it, she also did a soundtrack album that she produced herself and not only did 1940s standards, like Stephen Sondheim music, but also wrote tracks in the same vein with her co-songwriter,Shep Pettingbone, for the album. Madonna has performed twice at the Oscars, which is a huge deal and honor, and both times it was not pop music that was nominated that she performed, but music she had performed for movies. Which You Must Love Me won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Madonna didn't write it obviously, but she did sing it and obviously did it great justice in the movie. She has directed two movies, starting ona third. They may not be critically acclaimed, though, I did like W.E and she wrote the screenplay for it., but it shows she is far more than a pop singer. PopBitch 1,218
I think the ones so worried are the ones that loved to lord it over all the other fanbases because Gaga was massive and seemed untouchable in praise for her albums, so hated the turn of events where she wasn't number one and being praised by everybody still, but instead was at the top with the rest of them, not above, and lack of huge singles. Gaga will do fine and still has a lot more to offer and is young enough to still accomplish a lot. I do think her best album is yet to come. Not necessarily her best seller, but her best album as far as "her" masterpiece and critical acclaim.
Hewkah 48
I'd guess maybe half this fan base though fell in love with an avatar, a persona, a character.... the particular version of Gaga from 2008-2010. Gaga's problem is that she came out in her Ziggy Stardust persona, and a large portion of fans don't want her moving away from it. But this is my problem. I am constantly looking at Gaga now to what she used to be. THAT is the Gaga I fell in love with. I keep thinking "Oh, how I wish she'd go back to her old self - I want that persona + mysteriousness back." She's just so different now from what she was 4 - 5 years ago. It's truly remarkable. Sigh, I seriously need to just get over it, and finally realise that she's changed and we'll never get that back. Thank god I've got the music, performances, and videos on YouTube if I ever want to take a trip down memory lane.
Ronk 14,762
Don't take Stan wars so seriously. They are idiotic and the realm of small minds, group think, and pitiful needs for self validation. Don't participate. This. Gaga does not want her fans to participate in Stan wars, it just generates more hate and negativity. Hate can be found everywhere, but so can kindness. For example, I have more than 100 friends on ATRL, all of them like Gaga among their other faves. My friends there do not drag artists. I have found many Gaga threads there that stay positive. Sure, there are some threads specifically designed for flame bait but you just have to know where to look for good discussions. One think I noticed in the Gaga threads is if someone says anything negative about Gaga, monsters respond with vicious personal attacks that are much more hateful than the post to which they are responding. No wonder Gaga's fans get a bad name. And this reflects badly on Gaga. She doesn't deserve it, she teaches kindness and believes that hate should be responded to with kindness, not more hate. If only her fans would follow her philosophy and her lead. So, on topic with the OP, one thing we can do for Gaga's career is to just be kind, like Gaga. Some things you might find surprising on ATRL ... In a poll "Do you think Lady Gaga is creative" 78% responded yes. In a poll "Is Lady Gaga a pop icon 71% said yes. In a poll "Lady Gaga vs. Madonna. Who do you like more?" 59% said Gaga. These polls are not in a Gaga section, they are in a general section findable by everyone. I'm not touting ATRL, sure you can find plenty of hate there ... but there are also good discussions with plenty of Gaga fans, just like many of the discussions on GGD. I never visit the threads about other artists there because I don't want to come across mocking of Gaga. Giskardsb's quote in this post is exactly true. Btw, I am Ronk on ATRL ... if anyone visits, look me up. But stay here, tbh. I live outside the space time continuum.
