Not sure if you feel the same for me, and it doesn't matter. I do. This is a disscussion forum, so what would we be if we didn't get into arguments like the one we just threw here?... it'd be plain boring. No hard feelings, trust me! GagaDragon 10
??? But when they ask you why BTW sold less that it's predecessors what do you answer? It was a very polarising album which probably came a few years too early in Gaga's career. It was expected that the album wouldn't be as successful sales wise considering the controversial content on the album. I'm sure if she wanted to play it safe, she would have continued the momentum she had from TFM era and sell well with it. But still none of them fell as hard as ARTPOP did
giskardsb 12,565
I can understand people have different tastes an opinions but it's CLEAR the lyrical effort in BTW is light years ahead of ARTPOP, the sounds are just different but equally good so I can't make a comparison on that. BTW is my favorite album, but that is not "clear" at all. In fact ARTPOP has many less clunky lyrical moments than BTW and in general the lyrics flow much better. A Beaverhausen 280
I honestly think ARTPOP is incredible and did not get the proper Recognition it deserved. People quickly judged it as a flop without even listening/ experiencing it! Has become the culture of the popular to hate on gaga, when she does not even deserve any of the hatred/ criticism, She is one of the most beautiful, loving , talented and accepting artists of our time. Stop the drama, start the music! Just dance, It's going to be Ok ;)
Ronk 14,762
It is, and always will be, subjective. Sorry, friend, but what you are speaking is the very meaning of "delusional". C'est la vie This, exactly. And, to add my 2 cents, I think ARTPOP is her best album. So I will turn the tables and say everyone who thinks ARTPOP is not her best album is delusional. :) I live outside the space time continuum.

Just because the lyrics don't reach as deeply doesn't mean they aren't witty or sharp in their own right.

CookieHWilson 684
If it wasn't for ARTPOP I would not be typing in here now. Love it. It smashes my sadness to pieces and ****s on my problems. nonsequitur
uo111 5,261
Yes the lyrical content of ARTPOP serves well for the album's concept. I'm not denying that, but it doesn't make any less true the fact that the lyrical content of BTW is more meaningful and deep. I love both albums in their own right but my purpose was just to higlight the lyrics. NO. I can understand the album concept of ARTPOP worked well for your taste, in addition to its awesome arragenments. But when you do talk about an album whose lyrical content includes themes such s-x, fashion, s-x, a little of art incorporation, a few stardom stories, s-x, s-x, and living for the applause to another album that incorporates religion, politics, being who you are, standing up for yourself, feminism, love, leadership, and the belief of reuniting with a loved one that passed away in another dimension, to the concept lyrics. You can't have a subjective comparison, you just CANNOT, because that'd be the definition of delusion and ignorance! DEAL!!! ARTPOP incorporated religion (Venus, G.U.Y.), politics(MJH, Dope), being who you are(Gypsy, Fashion!, Aura), standing up for yourself (Do What U Want, Swine), feminism (G.U.Y.), love (JnD, MANiCURE), leadership (Donatella) and the belief of reuniting with a loved one that passed away in another dimension(ARTPOP, it could mean anything ). Seriously though, if people think BTW has more or deeper meaning than ARTPOP, then they just don't want to think seriously about ARTPOP's themes, and require the songs message to be spelled out for them. Like, it's not hard to tell what Born This Way is about, but Swine or Sexxx Dreams will just sound like a song about s-x to the ignorant.

SweetEscape 654
ARTPOP slay ur lives, careers, faves /thread A lot of people here are narrow minded, rude and disrespectful to others' opinion, so just pay no attention to them. They can shade ARTPOP all they want, it still remains for me her best album and of course my favorite album Haters gonna hate and throw all that negativity, but we shouldn't care
Mariano 958
i love ARTPOP too. It's not delusional to love it. Saying it's Gaga's best album tho and arguing with other people about it being better than BTW/TFM can lead to someone calling u delusional
