LibraLove 1,281
That was to be expected. Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the Obama administration and they can't wait until his term ends. There's no freaking reason that they should be. His policies and his entire administration has been insurmountably better then that of George W. Bush's, who coincidentally almost plunged the entire world into a second great depression that Obama resurrected the country from.
SS77 2,142
this is ****ing stupid and insulting and offensive. You do realize Gaga's father is a republican, right? Conservatives just want better fiscal policies. Gay marriage can wait a little bit. 31 out of the 50 states already allow it anyway and we need to get the economy flowing better again. The republicans might be annoying and backwards but they know how to pump up the economy far more than the democrats who like to spend money too much. DeleteMyAccount 11,881
It was inevitable. National statistics show that Americans are fed up with Democratic control after the crazy last 6 years. Not surprised at all and I definitely won't be surprised if the next president is a Republican as well, considering the national approval polls for Obama. It was the same for Republicans and Bush though. Which means that most people are too obsessed with labels (D, R) rather than the issues.
juicyjuicy 2,005
What kind of powers does the US Senate have?
Morphine Prince 109,683
You do realize most Presidents before him have had similar approval ratings by this time in their presidency, and in most cases had a lower approval rating than Obama? Not to mention most of them have been torn to shreds by this time. The media in this country has done everything it could to tear this President apart. It was the Democratic-controlled Senate that kept from women's and minority rights being set back, so now who knows what will happen. This is a disappointing day. Yes, it's a cycle. I'm already betting the next president will be a Republican. I just hope the republicans do a good job these next two years. That's what's important. Not all this taking sides BS. Why do I care if her dads a republican? My dads an atheist but I'm Christian? Its rather irrelevant information.

But nothing will be done. I guarantee an Obamacare repeal bill will be drafted and on the floor in the first 100 days of the next Congress, and Obama won't sign it. Time and money spent on a fruitless endeavor, which won't be the first time in Congress, and not the last.
Prometheus 1,494
Bipartisanship is a broken system anyway. I'm honestly terrified and deeply saddened. I don't know if "terrified" is the right word. I'm not Republican, but you're putting a lot of power in their hands. We've had Republican majorities before. Prometheus 1,494
That was to be expected. Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the Obama administration and they can't wait until his term ends. So we go to what we think is the only other alternative when there are many others. I don't get why people can't get their heads out of the past and see that there are other answers, not just R or D. Why not Libertarian?

I want nothing more than a functioning system, believe me! I'm just as optimistic. But I can see the bill being written now lol
