zexion_armando 241
All the gay marriage legalization wouldn't have occurred if this presidential administration wasn't democratic. ... yay? It will happen eventually anyway, but the presidential administration doesn't really mean much since it was the states themselves who moved for it. Disregard 50
It had to happen this way. One party has to be the majority so that they can blame all the bad things that happen on the the party that was the majority before ("It's not their fault they can't get **** done. They can't fix everything in X amount of years. We still voted for the right people") so then when the other party are the majority again the minority party can complain that the voters didn't give them enough time to fix the damage that the majority did. It's the same cycle over and over.
SS77 2,142
That was to be expected. Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the Obama administration and they can't wait until his term ends. I think the most important thing to come out of this election is that people are clearly fed up with Obama. His approval ratings just keep getting lower. He'a at 30% now, I believe. This. JustPokeHerFace 2,564
That was to be expected. Americans are clearly dissatisfied with the Obama administration and they can't wait until his term ends. Bush was the same way, as was Clinton. Most Presidents are like this. Whenever a President is voted into office, the House and Senate will usually be voted in his corresponding party. That is when the President can pass their most controversial stuff, because they know they can get it through (kind of like how the "it girl" in pop isn't treated as harshly by the media when she first becomes famous). As time goes on, backlash builds up, and support goes to the other party. Then the process repeats, and that president is either admired or ridiculed in history. ... yay? It will happen eventually anyway, but the presidential administration doesn't really mean much since it was the states themselves who moved for it. This. Also, most controversial challenges to gay marriage bans will make it to the supreme court, which if their actions from this year is any indicator, the bans will be dropped. uo111 5,283
All the gay marriage legalization wouldn't have occurred if this presidential administration wasn't democratic. The lower level courts of the judicial system which legalized all the gay marriage is almost entirely isolated from the executive and legislative branch. Republicans controlling the legislative branch wouldn't have effected that. Blaming the republicans for gridlocking congress doesn't actually make sense. It's a two party system. You can say that you disagree with their views but it's not "their fault" that congress was gridlocked, that's just what happens when you have a split legislative branch.
