Republicans take over the U.S.

What is somewhat baffling to me, is that within the course of the last decade and a half, there have been major changes to society - 9.11 happened, 2 wars (Afghanistan and Iraq), the worst economic downfall since the Great Depression, vast changes in technology and social media.  (Back in 2000, streaming something on the computer was a new concept and not everyone had cell phones then, not to mention YT and FB).  Through it all, the political landscape of the U.S. has hardly changed at all from then until now.  To me this shows resiliency in our political system.

It's curious to think that for the first time since the Reconstruction Period, a black Republican was elected to the U.S. Senate!

Not sure how these things relate to this thread, but thought they were interesting nonetheless.

Economy

Republicans also elected their first black female to the House (in Utah).

Yeah, the minimum wage raises ranged from 8:50 or 9 dollars an hour in red states, to $15 in San Francisco.

Continue to let States decide it themselves

Here in Canada Federal Minimum wage hasnt been talked about in forever. It still exists i believe but the Government doesnt really get involved

Its been left to each Province to decide for themselves what minimum wage should be and it works better that way seeing as the economy varies from one area to the other as does cost of living and trying to come up with a National standard isnt gonna work most efficiently

Not laughing, just saying you can't be Bis-xual and Gay. If you enjoy s-x with women and men then you're bis-xual. If you enjoy s-x with men only then you're gay. If you enjoy s-x with women only you are straight. You can enjoy non s-xual relationships with women and s-xual relationships with men, you're gay. Simple as that. It appears you may be a young person confused with their s-xual identity, don't worry about it, you'll figure it out once you have s-x with either a woman or a man, you will know in your Heart. Your physical responses (getting erections, having orgasms or not). Your emotional responses and feelings will follow. In the meantime, please use condoms and protected s-x measures as HIV/ AIDS, s-xually transmitted diseases have not gone away, especially if you are in experimental mode, you want your s-x partners as well as yourself to be protected. A lot of times both gay men and bis-xual individuals enjoy group s-x. Most bis-xuals have more s-xual partners due to the nature of the identity. And it is very rare to encounter a gay man who will make a permanent commitment as most gay men are promiscuous, so Please have condoms in your wallet at all times.  Don't forget getting a woman or girl pregnant as well, if you are not ready for parenthood and the responsibilities that go along with being a Father. Raising children is very expensive financially also. Take care, be safe.

I am 20 years old. I am not young.

As for your other points, I am well-aware of the many different s-xual orientations. However, I also take romantic attraction into account. I have been romantically involved with a woman before, but never a man. I have had s-x with a man, but not with a woman. You needn't educate me on the ins and outs of human s-xuality (although I appreciate the sentiment). However, my lack of concrete identification is not an indicator of fear or ignorance; my lack of concrete identification is due to the fact that I do not believe in limiting myself with a single word. Sexuality is more than just black and white and a single shade of gray.

I am more of a romantic person than a s-xual person, so s-xual attraction is not a huge factor for me (though aesthetic beauty in my own eyes is). I get very upset when people try and tell me what box to hop into and smile. I am not made for a box. That may not fit your ideology when it comes to s-xuality, but it doesn't matter.

You should not be concerned with how I label myself, or lack thereof.

I also find your views on the promiscuity of bis-xuals and the lack of commitment in homos-xual relationships to be offensive.

By the way, wallet condoms are the worst because they wear in a wallet and will be more likely to break.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Democrats lost because they ran a spineless campaign. They had MANY positive things to show the country why their leadership was working and yet they did NOTHING.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Well you can be offended if that's how you choose to react but I am talking from 45 years of life experience as an out and about Lesbian and the facts are yes, there exists an extremely high percentage of promiscuity in bis-xuals, gay men, Lesbians and lifelong commitment in gay relationships is extremely rare. You are 20 years old, yes, you are young and inexperienced. I never said you were ignorant, that is your own opinion. You stated you lack concrete identification in order to not limit your s-xuality to a single word of "gay" or "bi". My thoughts are perhaps for your situation a good Spiritual description of your sentiment may be "PANSEXUAL" then you have no limitations or need to identify as gay or bi. And yes, s-xuality is black or white. The grey areas are usually what lead to psychological problems, s-xual perversions and a host of other issues. I'm not concerned with how you label yourself, my concern is the stated fact that one cannot claim to be bis-xual and gay. These are two entirely opposite terms. You can state you are a s-xual person, period, that would end the "labels." And I don't give a **** what type of condoms you wear, just wear whatever it is you have to wear, put them in your ****ing pocket if you have to, because your statement "By the way, wallet condoms are the worst because they wear in a wallet and will be more likely to break" indicates to me that you have a bad attitude, you are young, inexperienced and irresponsible and wouldn't give a crap if you ruined your life and other peoples lives. So don't give me any punk attitude, I am a Registered Nurse and I have seen first hand and taken care of many AIDS patients, girls who's lives are ruined because they had to get abortions and on and on. I have seen these HIV patients lose their minds, their body functions and waste away and die on my shifts. I have worked in Mental Institutions with Pediatric Adolescents which is your age group who have lost any sense of themselves due to their confusion of s-xual orientation. I have performed Emergency procedures on children your age and younger after suicide attempts. I have bathed, dressed and prepared children, adolescents and adult BODIES after successful suicides. I suggest you go do some Volunteer work at an HIV/AIDS shelter before you make any more stupid ass comments about ****ing "condoms breaking" as an excuse not to wear one. But hey, what do I know except that I have seen DEATH firsthand and we are on a personal basis, the Grim Reaper and I know each other very well. 472.jpg

The slash does not equate to "and." Otherwise I would not have used and ampersand. For instance, if a man/woman wants to attend a meeting they can. I am not saying a man AND a woman. I am clearly separating the two. And how dare you assume I am some reckless youth who would endanger the lives of others. You know nothing about me. Yet here you are, calling me a punk.

As if I am saying "don't use condoms because wallet condoms have a tendency to break." You needn't lecture me about the ramifications of unprotected s-x. Do you know who gets on their straight friends for not wearing condoms simply because of the pull out method? I do, because pulling out doesn't protect against STDs. Do you know who waits to have s-x until they are in a committed relationship? I do. Do you realize who went to the Wellness Center to be tested for STDs after having protected s-x once? I did. See? You do not know me, yet here you are. Judging.

I do not identify as pans-xual because I am not attracted to people outside of the male and female identifications. My current disposition and actions would flag me as gay, but my internal feelings would make me bis-xual. This is easier to say than homos-xual, biromantic. Yes, romantic attraction exists separate from s-xual attraction.

The Governor of my state is republican now. I'm so sad, Illinois is already ****ed up as it is. :(

I feel the same way. However, he'll probably end up in prison like all the other governors.

#1: You're being condescending

#2: You are making crude generalizations

#3: Wallets are a terrible place to store condoms--they cause the condoms to deteriorate

In my eyes, your motives are admirable but the way that you're making your points just comes off as quite disrespectful.

So we go to what we think is the only other alternative when there are many others. I don't get why people can't get their heads out of the past and see that there are other answers, not just R or D. Why not Libertarian?

Why not Green Party? :Jase:

What's ironic is ballot initiatives for raising the minimum wage passed yesterday in places as diverse as Arkansas and San Francisco. Yet the Democrats fail to connect with their traditional working class support enough to win.

I think the left has got so identified with promoting minorities and women, and calling white males privileged all the time, that a large segment of ordinary white guys actually feel the Republicans are more on their side.

like Lady Gaga with BTW
