I mean it sounds racist to me. I thought this was going to be about the No Doubt video with all the  native american stuff though :emma:

The article touches upon it, and we are more than welcome to discuss that here too. People have been a bit here and there

It's not racist.

At best its cultural appropriation. Everything is racist to people nowadays, it's concerning.

There is a difference between racism and ignorance. People don't understand.

As a representation of Asians, Gwen's LAMB era is no worse than Gangham Style.

http://callmepatricia.com/2012/12/13/gangnam-style-racism-and-the-evolving-asian-stereotype/

This writer is embarrassed by PSY's nerdiness and accuses whites of being racist for enjoying it.

Gangham Style isn't cool enough, not manly enough.

As far as the Western hivemind is concerned, Asians have no place filling the role of the fierce pop star capable of owning the stage and captivating an audience with powerful vocals dance moves.

So pressed that there is no Asian Beyonce, lol.

Maybe many whites ENJOY PSY bringing neridiness and fun into music, which you rarely get from hip-hip.

The real disappointment of this situation is that Asian-Americans seem to be more impressed with the fact that a Western audience has finally “accepted†an Asian entertainer, instead of acknowledging the fact that Psy’s popularity amongst Western audiences is one that is deeply rooted in racism.

Can't take joy in her own culture's success because she is too self-hating. Projects that self-hate onto whites.

The final absurdity - it becomes racist to like K-Pop groups that some PC person finds embarrasing:

FROM THE COMMENTS: I got called racist over Tumblr the other day for liking T-ara, SNSD, f(x) and C-REAL, so now I'm confused because me liking them doesn't even have anything to do with them being from Korea but because their beats are hot.

is it racist to love a culture?

THIS. I never understand these claims that popstars are being rude for referencing cultures in their work, they are not saying they invented it, they are not using it as a joke to ridicularize the culture, they are just showing their appreciation for it. Gwen had a whole performance piece with the Harajuku theme, she was obsessed with the Harajuku culture (not the JAPANESE culture)
