djBuffoon 12,115 Posted October 23, 2014 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Gagas problem was the terrible planning, barely surprising innovative songs which one would not expect from Gaga, yes there were good popsongs, but it was missing something, the people wanted something unexpected. For the life of me, I will never understand where this dip in quality is supposed to be. Btw is my favorite album but the lyrics don't always flow as well. ARTPOP the song is particularly good while still maintaining some of Gagas surreality. I will grant that her earlier material is more instantly accessible and catchy, but I find the last two records to be much more rewarding and, in their own ways, more complex. OF COURSE she's heard of ARTPOP, which is why she chose to say that particular word instead of pop art which is the popular term.
