She basically said she's disappointed that Madonna was so bitter towards her (young artist), and instead of supporting Gaga she inflamed even more the comparisons and accusations. That's why she says "I'd like to say Madonna (as an influence)", but she's not an influence anymore, since she's a disappointment as a person. "Some artists are really kind when you meet them, but others are rude". Her attitude made her lose the respect she had for Madonna, and she's no longer an influence to her. That's it. If you were an artist and you had to choose who are your music idols/inspiration, and you would have chose someone who shades new and young artists, that means something about you as an artist. How can someone who treats you like trash continue to inspire you? That's what she meant. the question was who inspired you to be an artist, means in the past, not in the present. and it doesn't really need to matter if she tried to shade her or not, If you were an artist and you had to choose who are your music idols/inspiration, and you would have chose someone who shades new and young artists, that means something about you as an artist.
