She had the media, Madonna fans and even some of her own fans against her for an entire era just because two songs sounded alike. Madonna knew the "reductive" comment and covering BTW on her tour would only fuel that. Can't really blame Gaga for feeling this way.

yASSsss

Of course she hasn't. There's no album/tour to promote. Wait until her flop album is released and you'll see.

Um, guys. I'm not sure if understand this. Madonna was an idol for Gaga, and then she made fun of her, used her song in tour (even if she paid for each performance), the reductive thing. That was very mean and not really supportive. That's why she said this.

I was a fan of Madonna way before Lady Gaga came out with Just Dance and then I became a fan when she released Poker Face. I love Madonna's discography just like I love Gaga's discography. I just think it's pathetic the way they both act about this. I don't care if they don't like each other, but it's just "shady" to do or say things like this and immature. Madonna is almost 60 years old, she's an icon and I don't think she should waste her time doing this, just like Gaga looks immature when she says (if she did) things like this, or even feel hurt about it.

And yeah, Born This Way actually sounds like Express Yourself, even I heard the comparison, but I don't know why they made such a big deal about it. The media REALLY has a big influence on people because they come up with this every chance they have, but maybe Gaga did way too many things influenced by Madonna. I just don't get why Katy Perry got away with California Girls/Tik Tok (I guess same producer) and Roar/Brave, when Gaga's career has been severely damaged by what the media said about those songs.

You see, I still can't hear the reason for all the comparisons. They sound nothing alike to me, and I'm being quite honest about it. To me, I Like It Rough sounds a lot more like Some Girls, and Gaga never said anything about it.

it seems that this Madonna thing affected her emotionally. I believe it also caused a big damage to her brand. she kept saying how she s the master of the fame game and that she studied it sociologically in interviews so I guess that's not true cause of a master of this game wouldn't reply this way. she needs to like move on from things and don't let them take her down emotionally and then professionally

It does seem like perhaps something got lost in translation here.  We really aren't sure what the context is, so don't start butting heads over something you don't really know.

Why are people confused by her words? She basically said she's disappointed that Madonna was so bitter towards her (young artist), and instead of supporting Gaga she inflamed even more the comparisons and accusations. That's why she says "I'd like to say Madonna (as an influence)", but she's not an influence anymore, since she's a disappointment as a person.

"Some artists are really kind when you meet them, but others are rude". Her attitude made her lose the respect she had for Madonna, and she's no longer an influence to her. That's it.

So it's true that Madge's jealous of Gaga being more talented and that she can snatch her weave easily.  :udidnt:
