shane_c 480
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah" Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then loAllah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah]and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" (Translation is from the Noble Quran) Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." Quran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."

But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks." These verses are taken out of context.. Here is one of the verses explained (Quran 2:191-193): Fitnah does not mean disbelief, it means persecution! and it doesnt say kill, it says fight them! The verse in islam "fight them wherever you find them" is not telling muslims to kill none believers.. its talking to muslims of that time that wanted to do the pilgrimage in mecca but the none believers in mecca threatened them and god sent this verse. It doesnt say you must kill unbelievers in Mecca but "you are allowed to defend yourself and fight them but only if a grace period is over, and only if they broke the agreement, and only if they try to keep you away from the kabbah, and only if they attack you first and even then god is merciful, forgiveness is supreme and so essentially better if you don't". Here are some verses from the quran that proves the opposite: "whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve""O Muhammad, would you compel the people in order that they become believers?""There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong" "if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind." ""Whoever kills a mu‘aahid [non-Muslim living under Muslim rule] will not smell the fragrance of Paradise. "This is a message from Muhammad, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by God! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks." Out of context and mistranslated. Fitnah doesn't mean disbelief. There are volumes of books explaining the meaning, time and reason for each revealed verse. And you ignored these, both Qur'an verses and hadiths.“And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad) then compel mankind, until they become believers†[Yoonus 10:99] “There is no compulsion in religion†[al-Baqarah 2:256] “Allaah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion nor drove you out of your homes. Verily, Allaah loves those who deal with equityâ€[al-Mumtahinah 60:8] " Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to the Muslim army: “Go out in the name of Allaah and by the help of Allaah, following the way of the Messenger of Allaah. Do not kill any old man, infant, child or woman… spread goodness and do good, for Allaah loves those who do good.†(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2614) " " Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) gave to the commander of his army: “I advise you of ten things: do not kill a woman, or a child, or any old person, or cut down any fruit trees…†(al-Muwatta’, 982, Kitaab al-Jihaad). " " “It is only as regards those who fought against you on account of religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and helped to drive you out, that Allaah forbids you to befriend them. And whosoever will befriend them, then such are the Zaalimoon (wrongdoers those who disobey Allaah).â€[al-Mumtahinah 60:9] " “Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allah by committing the major sins) in the land†[al-Maa’idah 5:32]. “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do†[al-Maa’idah 5:8]. " The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If anyone wrongs a mu‘aahid [non-Muslim living under Muslim rule], detracts from his rights, burdens him with more work than he is able to do or takes something from him without his consent, I will plead for him (the mu‘aahid) on the Day of Resurrection." Narrated by Abu Dawood (3052)" " the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever kills a mu‘aahid [non-Muslim living under Muslim rule] will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, although its fragrance may be detected from a distance of forty years.†Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3166) " FreePalestine

SleepingSun 1,399
Situations like these make me uncomfortable. Why? Well, I always try to think about ways to end such conflicts in peace. But when one side repeatedly kills people and makes new threats every day, even declaring an entire group of people their enemy, then I ask myself: "Can this conflict be ended without the other side, meaning us, being violent as well?". One second I'm a troll, then suddenly the troll is me.
