Basically, Just Dance was dominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2009 Grammys, which was before she really started her domination. JD actually finally hit number one on the Hot 100 a few weeks before those Grammys, I think. Because she had already previously received a nomination, she was deemed to be ineligible for Best New Artist in 2010, which caused a bit of controversy. They then changed the rule because of that incident, so now as long as an artist hasn't released a full album or already won a Grammy, they can be considered a 'new artist'. Even with the new rules. That's true, you're right. I always forget that, because TF didn't come out until January 2009 here in the UK. Her situation was a pretty unique one.
