It's really hard to keep my composure when I see this kind of stuff on this site time and time again.

Your probably right, I overreacted. Let me hide that post.

Well, you basically said what a lot of other people couldn't say.. because they know if they did they'd get dragged into this mess.

So thank you for that.

it is if u know how it works. We just dont know how it all works but there is a scientific answer for everything whether we know it or not

Big bang or God creating everything either way it doesnt eliminate the science behind it

Believe in God and science is possible....however to exclude one or the other isn't possible imo....mindless matter exploding chaotically doesn't make intelligent/emotional/spiritual/complex/organized life forms....

It indeed is very weird how living things formed... so much more research needs to be done into everything tbh. For now I think that it randomly happened, which is possible but unlikely to happen.

If that's what you believe ok.....but the cause and effect of the big bang don't make sense to me as to evolution being the answer

The thing is: we know nothing ! How can you claim there is any god or anything with such certainty ? How can you say there is none with such certainty ? I could believe that there is something greater, but it is not Jesus or stupid things like that and we will probably never learn the truth ! So to be honest, i think that religion is really stupid ( unless you are weak-minded ) but i also think that atheism is kinda stupid cuz you never know ! YOU NEVER KNOW ! ................

i agree with the bolded statement because being very religious myself, I am not one hundred percent certain that God is there, yet my faith drives me to believe in him and pray to him daily. However at the end of the day I realize, as my religion does help me realize, it's the faith that matters in the end. And there is some sort of faith and spirituality in all human beings which doesn't necessarily corrolate with the belief in religion and a deity. Which is why I don't understand how you can be so sure either way. However, I don't think religion is stupid considering all the great things it's done and does for the world in terms of culture, charity, humanism, etc.

All I see in this thread are assholes who want to make themselves seem superior for what they believe or don't believe. Please get the **** over yourselves and let people believe as they wish without being condescending.

Holy crap, what is this thread? I'm obviously feeling my relative new-ness because this is a mess.

People are confusing God and the Bible.

You can't refute God by siting examples from a holy book. That doesn't make sense, because they are not one in the same. So bringing up creationism and evolution isn't even necessary.

God and evolution are not mutually exclusive.

ummm that isnt really what i was getting at :fail:

U said science isnt the answer for everything...

Im saying thats wrong. Theres a science behind everything so there are scientific answers to everything. Just cause our knowledge is limited and we dont have answers for everything doesnt mean dont exist

I neither supported the big bang theory or God creating everything in my post. I merely said one way or the other there would still be science behind it

PS: If there was an intelligent life that created everything u dont know what methods he might of used to create the Universe. For all we know there was both a big bang and God behind it :coffee:

ur refering to ignostics for instance who believe in god but not specific religion right?

And i get what ur saying... I personally think the bible may have some truths im looking into it i dunno. Gotta research...

But for the sake of the argument... If the bible and every religion was infact fake, that wouldnt necessairily mean god wasnt real

The Universe is quite orderly and complex and a large explosion like the big bang i have a hard time beliving would create this without a mind behind it

I saw this documentry once on how things tend to go from order to disorder the more time goes by. The universe getting more orderly as time goes by is exactly the opposite of what tends to happen to things

I like your opinion. But not everybody has faith in themselves, i never had urge or desire or need or whatever to search god or higher power, to believe in something. I am fine the way i am, no need to wonder who created us or what was the purpose. The purpose of life, hence the purpose of us is simple: to live ! .... But i would disagree with the great things they have done. Like witch trials where thousands of innocent people were burned only because the Church needed to controll and gain ? Their fight against gay people ? There are some individuals in religion really doing nice things and believing in good, but a lot of people are only abusing religion in a wrong way...

You can not hide if nobody pays attention to you :*

When people say they believe in the bible do they really mean it? Like even stories like Adam and Eve and the serpent?

I don't really think think religion is a bad thing but I think that it is man that manipulate religion to control people is the evil of all.

Also I just don't like the way Christians pushes their beliefs on other people who have other religions like mine (buddhist). I remember going shopping or in the library and some random lady would always come up to me and tell me about Jesus and then say my religion is nonsense. Its really offending and Im not even in living in US. Christians terrifies me to be honest.

How does having a mind behind it help? Where did the mind come from, then?
