Economy

well his arguments at least here are flawd. "Religions believe in miracles which is incompatioble with science". Not necessairily, if there were a powerful being that could control things at the molecular level, why would it be scientifically impossible just because we humans cant do it?

Also lets assume there is no religion that is right, or that no one religion has all the right beliefs... that in itself doesnt prove that there is no God

now his long speech i cant say because i havent heard it. Im only saying this from what was posted on the OP :coffee:

I think ppl prefer to ask "what's the proof that God is real?" Than "what is the proof that God isn't real?", i mean how do u explain the existance of creatures that's out of this world such as demons(may I call them) that NO BODY CAN DENY THEIR EXISTENCE on this planet, there are TONS of new science discoveries that the holy books stated about, more than 1000 years ago, such things that has to do with the outer space and down deep the oceans, and U wanna tell me a normal village man knew all about these things thousands years ago?! Lol @ you

you left out the most important category - people who have not yet been swayed to either side and want to follow the evidence to the most logical conclusion.

You have to remember humanity is not Spock from Star Trek. The brain consists of two hemispheres: the logical, rational left side and the imaginative, creative right side. Can you honestly say there are people who are not swayed by either side, based on how they were brought up? Even if their choices are not affected directly, the magnitude of this debate is far reaching to people of all walks of life as it is about how people explain and relate with this world. Based on one's objective beliefs, they are powerful mental standards that set the course for one's life. If you ever read material from Tony Robbins, he makes this case and shows why people remain in their ways, even if is a matter of self worth and capability, habits, or how they see others.

Objective view would be what Hawkings originally said about both viewpoints, and in making this conclusion, that objective view became subjective whether others agree with him or not.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

In countries like Brazil and Zambia :blehga:

I agree with him. I also get why he doesn't give an explanation. There is no explanation. We have no reason to think that God exists, because we know what actually happened now.

there are a lot more countries.

And God is real.

I think ppl prefer to ask "what's the proof that God is real?" Than "what is the proof that God isn't real?"

exactly, and so we should. the burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim that something is real. i don't have to disprove a god, you have to prove one. and if you can't do that, then i cannot believe it.

i mean how do u explain the existance of creatures that's out of this world such as demons(may I call them) that NO BODY CAN DENY THEIR EXISTENCE on this planet

uh... i think plenty of people deny that. show me some credible evidence for "demons". it's the same as the god question. burden of proof is on you.

there are TONS of new science discoveries that the holy books stated about, more than 1000 years ago, such things that has to do with the outer space and down deep the oceans, and U wanna tell me a normal village man knew all about these things thousands years ago?! Lol @ you

or you're just projecting discoveries of things onto said holy books because you want it to be true. there's nothing sophisticated about the "science" of any holy book. which is not surprising at all considering the time frame and how much we now know.

this is just a myth. it's not true.

Can you honestly say there are people who are not swayed by either side, based on how they were brought up?

sure. probably quite a lot of people in fact, even if religion was forced upon them as a child. plenty of people say "i truly don't know" and leave it that. then there are people who go looking for answers in different faiths and non faiths. and then there are people who were religious and stopped believing. lots of people do that. and they do it because they follow the evidence.
