Celebrities tweeting about C2C

Okay, I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but does anyone else get the feeling that all the celebrity tweets about C2C aren't really genuine and is used as a marketing tool? All of a sudden all these celebrities start tweeting about the album this weekend along with all the other promo (to push the album further in the race for #1). If they tweeted about it on Tuesday it would seem normal since the album was released that day, but now that all these celebrities are tweeting about it now and posting the link makes me think that the Haus contacted them to tweet about the album because that is something the other two acts (Chesney and Barbara) lack- social media presence. I hate to say it but I actually feel like maybe these celebs were paid to do it? I mean no one was tweeting about BTW or ARTPOP when they were released- granted, this is a jazz album with a living legend- but still it doesn't feel genuine.

If it really is true, how do you feel about it? Or how do you feel about it in general? Does it seem fishy to you? Have we become the new Katyola?

This is how it is:

-It's being promoted heavily

-Receiving lots of positive reviews

-People like it

-People end up tweeting about it

-It goes viral so celebrities tweet about it

-Also, it's Gaga. Majority of celebrities love her.

No,

Many of them could have been genuine.

Never judge.

I think this is very common. I don't believe all of them are being genuine but I wouldn't compare it to payola. Payola is not a marketing strategy, it's cheating.

Yup. This is more of a "nudge" if you will to have these celebrities tweet. Did they do it on their own time? Maybe not. Did they actually listen to it and genuinely enjoy it? Yes! :)

The only thing I'm afraid of is that she's going to receive backlash for "chart manipulation" or something.

I definitely don't think they paid these people. Also, I can guarantee you there are tons of country artists tweeting about Chesney. Most of these artists are fans or Gaga has tweeted about their music or shows. Maybe they are just being nice and paying back the compliment.

Either way, who cares, they are simple tweets that take all of a few seconds of anyone's time.

I don't think it's geniune, I think they are being paid for it and they want the #1 so badly :rip:

I beleive if they wanted that #1 so badly they would've bought the spot already. In which case they want it to look believable, so they ask a few celebs to tweet about it.

Because if their actual marketing strategy was to pay a bunch of celebs to promote the album that would be VERY strange

Oh, I'm just visiting-

She won't. Except for the drama queens at ATRL and the wimpy fans here who are worried to death that she will get backlash at a place as insignificant as that cesspool.

In the real world, outside of cray Diva land, no one is going to care.
