Yeah, that's true. Just by taking a quick glance at the iTunes charts in the US, you can see that there aren't a lot of popular electronic songs right now. A lot of the pop songs that are charting at the moment use more organic instruments, such as All About That Bass, Shake it Off, Bang Bang by Jessie J, Chandelier, Stay With Me… 

 

Reminds me of the mid-2000's, but not quite as hip hop influenced.

Gosh, Gaga has never sounded so boring. I hate Sam Smith. he tries too hard imo. I knew her hanging out with Tony Bennett was going to turn out like this. She's sounding like a 80 year old.

So let's look at this statement. She's throwing shade at her entire fanbase. She doesn't think we connect with ARTPOP or BTW because they're electronic and we just like those records because we were being trendy?? So all of this time she was just being trendy instead of authentic herself? So when she told all that crap on Oprah that she wanted to find discover her new sound for ARTPOP was just a big pile of bull****? She just built the songs like that because to be ~trendy? (and in that case she failed).

Seriously...I don't even know what to say, or to think anymore. She is constantly making me feel like this whole "Lady Gaga" thing was just a fantasy, a fad, a product that she's ditching because it's no longer profitable.

Wow Stefani...you're leaving me speechless in the worst way possible. Lady Gaga would never be so superficial and judgemental about music. Electronic can be deep too. You just have to be good at it, sweetie.

Absolutely agree with Gaga here. I have noticed a big shift in music latley. I would love her go quit EDM for a while, music like C2C suits her so much better and really shows off her voice, she has an incredible voice, she should make music that shows it off more.

She said "MORE authentic and MORE honest", she never implied that her music wasn't authentic and honest. She can appreciate others music more than hers, actually it is very nice of her.

I agree with her. Electronic music has become predictable and everybody uses the same formula over and over again. Electronic artists need to find a new way to incorporate a different sound to electronic music.

I'm happy to see that she's proud of Cheek To Cheek, but, to me, Born This Way is the most important album (and lead single) of her career, and it always will be. I mean, it's an album of classic covers, but that's it. I think she should put her feet on the ground and see what she has done in the past and be proud of it, and I know she has said it in the past, but I don't like it when she's all like "This is my best album" with every album release.

I guess she's just happy right now and enjoying Cheek to Cheek, so it's okay.

I don't like her describing the whole electronic sound as being less "honest/human/authentic" compared to jazz. 

she jumped aboard the EDM train with ARTPOP and now she's saying this?....

 

 

 

seriously, electronic music has made me feel more energy and emotion than jazz ever will. call my music taste shallow but it's the truth. and I felt so much energy and emotional release with the edm songs on ARTPOP and now gaga is saying stuff like this and idk
