XoXoJoanneGaga 629
And that's exactly what she's doing if she's planing to do an album like Adele/Sam Smith! I would say it's different this time though, I would say the trends are more lining up with the way she organically makes music. Remember she wrote all the songs on The Fame on the piano before turning them into electronic pop songs.
Runway 27,876
I've never heard a singer/songwriter say an album of unoriginal music is their most important, ever. Or the fact that she recorded it with a legend that she looks up to and who happened to give her hope in herself again after even her fans turned on her
tokyodisko 0
Sam Smith and Lorde types will be out of style soon enough. I'm not fond of it. It's so generic, because people are saps. I am excited that she wants to make some less-EDM music, but I hope she doesn't handle it in the way that ARTPOP is "EDM". Speechless >>> This gives me Fame teas. Like, the EP and unreleased. She really needs to put out Fever. So badly.
Cupid 760
Yeah the trend started last year with Royals (not saying Lorde STARTED the trend) it was an indication that people were hungry for something else than what was dominating top 40 for the last couple of years. This is the natural cycle of music, just like fashion. Trends come and go in different eras and we're now about to enter another one.
Rolodex of Hate 1,761
I love when she talks about Tony and says; 'And his heart is as big as his................................................ ... Voltaire 4,531
A song that was recorded with LIVE musicians, not digitaly created. I am in no way saying that EDM is bad, just as Gaga isn't either. DitD is my fave. But I wanted to show how recording in the way she is talking about doesn't mean it has to be stripped down or unplugged sounding. 20 musicians created this in studio, strings and choir included. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmXMA34CeoQ Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker

Creyk 17,805
How is she betraying her legacy? She is just saying that mainstream music is moving in a new direction. She is suggesting that electronic music is inauthentic and dishonest, non-human. Like her first 3 albums were. :wtf:
Quark 7,098
But that is not your problem. If that is her most important album for whatever reason, than that is just how it is. Your "own" most important Gaga album doesn't have to be the same as hers. You also have to remember that she constantly says that this album saved her career because she did not want to make music anymore. And I think this fact is pretty important. I've never heard a singer/songwriter say an album of non-original music is their most important to them, ever.
djBuffoon 12,115
Gaga still thought she was untouchable while recording the album, and she thought electronic was still in. This was supposed to be her big rise from the ashes after the hip-injury. And I wouldn't count Donatella as Zedd stepping up his creativity Aside from that song, I think all her songs are authentic, but in different ways. ARTPOP comes from an authentic place but it's expressed in a pretty shallow way, imo. (with the exception of Dope). The first chorus on the album is "do you want to see the girl who lives behind the aura" but we don't really get that. I don't knoiw what you're talking about with that first bit, we have no idea what she was thinking during production... And hence, I didn't mention "Donatella", we're in agreement on that one. I think it's interesting that ARTPOP is accused as being shallow, when I don't think it is any more or less accessible (or deep) than, say, The Fame Monster. Complexity is not really Gaga's style, with a few glaring exceptions, "Judas" being one of them. But I would say it's straightforward as opposed to shallow, and perhaps even the most autobiographical and honest album of her career. She really let us in on this one, and I don't feel that gets enough appreciation, amongst the album's other assets.
boyerased 2,886
Oh my god. She didn't shade her whole discography. She just said that Elecronic is out, not Electronic is crap. I hate how she overrates C2c. It's okay that she is aware of the current trends but I want her to START A NEW TREND AND NOT FOLLOW THE EXISTING TREND. TimisaMonster 31,073
Since when is this a dis? She is just saying that mainstream music is moving in a non electron, less commercial direction. That doesn't mean her fans feel that way.... We're POP fans who love her electronic music... Ballads don't make an artist "more human or raw".... I hate people who try to do acoustic stuff to look deep and serious, but THAT seems more fake to me than anything Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Quark 7,098
She is talking about mainstream electronic music. She obviously loves electronic music, and she obviously created a lot of authentic electronic songs herself. But mainstream electronic music is only made to sell more, without true feelings or artistry. She is suggesting that electronic music is inauthentic and dishonest, non-human. Like her first 3 albums were. :wtf:
