I know many will probably continue to see ARTPOP as a disappointment or mistake, but I believe that it has marked a crucial point for Gaga in the long run. In this sense she truly has been a creative rebellion throughout the era. And while some things have clearly backfired, maybe it was a necessary process to truly grow as the artist she wants to be. And Troy managed many factors in her work, so for that plug to be pulled so suddenly would take the wind out of her sails.
