I admire this woman more than I can even try to put into words. She's so strong and beautiful. I can imagine such a level of persecution being thrown over myself, I wouldn't be able to even show my face in public. She's so brave and I love her for it.

This is what happens when small minds get ahold of social media / Internet.  Of course, she's no where near the vicinity of being remotely overweight.  It boils down to the fact that people like to be mean if they can get away with it.  Strokes their pathetic egos.

#bodyrevolution Proud at any size, because the inside is what really counts. Plus, it's all how you pose! Just ask the supermodels!

Sadly, you are correct in this observation. She would have it easier with more girls and more straight guys in her fanbase.

The supercritical fans are the most vocal and loudest, as well.

This is an extremely offensive generalization.

There's a reason why the straights and the girls are into "pretty" popstars like Katy Perry. So STOP right now if you think they're more "open minded".

When this happens, though, she goes and drops like six pounds or so .  I remember the BTW and her standing up for her weight gain and then she started trimming back down.

That's mostly little girls.  ;)  :hehe: Most straight guys aren't interested in Katy Perry's music! lol :smh:

But yes, I do believe that most girls and women have a more healthy and open outlook on body types overall, towards their peers and also when looking for boys, men or other girls to date. I would say that a majority are looking for things outside of a perfect body. They don't seem to be obsessed with it as much as you would find in other demographics.

And believe it or not, most straight guys REALLY do like women with curves...just as much, as their thin counterparts. Many do appreciate some boobs, thighs and a nice sized ass.

Oh my god! If Gaga is fat then I'm a damm whale.

That is not even close to being "fat".

And WTF is fat anyway? I don't use that term to refer to people because it is very hurtful and rude.

There is a movement in the media that's essentially promoting a slightly overweight image as the new normal, and painting morbidly obese people as the outliers (example: check out the #1 song in the country right now). People think that it's normal to be slightly overweight and have a protruding stomach as long as they aren't breaking their scale.

I know this isn't the right place to talk about this though, this issue frustrates me cause I'm a medical student and once you learn this stuff it's impossible to not see it everwhere. People are very misguided about it and it's a growing problem. But I won't discuss it here

I'm going to be as polite as possible here.

Firstly, in what f***ing world does anyone advertise being overweight in any form as a good thing? Do you know how many diet/weight loss pill advertisements are shown on a daily basis? Do you know how many magazines are printed on a daily basis with skinny people and headlines that read "porking up" or "(insert celebrity name here) gains weight?"

You being a medical student does not give you the right to shame others for their weight. It's awful.

Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.
