:toofloppy:  your comments are tragic. Sorry no offense.

How? He sounds the same on every track with his talking. Gaga has a great voice, but the songs aren't anything special imo

I agree that the videos are identical which is disapointing when you consider how bold Gaga's videos normally are. I also agree that the art work for the album cover and single covers are bascially the same, which is understandable but boring.

The songs though, I don't think it's a problem that they sound simliar. They are all coming off of the same jazz record, it would be weird if there was a huge diffrence in their sound.

If you don't enjoy jazz this project isn't for you.

I don't get why this project has to be compared to Gaga's "bolder" projects? I get that her work doesn't live in a vacuum, but undermining C2C because you have a preconceived notion of what a Gaga project should look and sound is counterproductive. Yes it contrasts Gaga's usual gregariousness. Yes, this follows a more traditional interpretation of Jazz. It's obvious that visual appeal is in no way the main intent of C2C. It makes no sense to judge it as such. The music videos are moreso a documentation of the making of the music. The music is what's important here.

And sure the songs have similarities. That's a cohesive piece of work.

But not here for "they all sound the same" comments only meant to denigrate this album when people who say this clearly don't have an ear for the conversation, the improvisation, or the instrumentation in Jazz.

Gaga is like the GG Allin of mainstream pop music, she is a shock jock. A few months ago she was getting puked on while screaming about rape. She dry humps giant crystals. She wears chicken nugget masks. I don't think it's unwarranted for her fans to expect a  twist when she takes on jazz. When Nina Hagen released a big band album she didn't tone down her eccentric aesthetic to apeal to a geriatric audience.

The problem I am having with these videos and promotional images is how basic they are. They are clearly desinged to apeal to QVC viewers and Betty And Joe Beer Can. Given the nature of the music they are recording, I think they are missing an opportunity by not being boundry pushing with the way they are packaging this album.

But as I have said in this thread already, and as I have said countless times on this site, I can not wait to hear this record! I love jazz. Gaga's vocals are stupendous. Tony is a legend. The song choices are great. Nature Boy is a beatuiful song. I am very much enjoying the music from Cheek To Cheek.

They are not reinventing the wheel with their aproach to standers so I just wish they would be a little more bold with the visuals aspect of this project.

Maybe in the future we can get a solo jazz album from her that is more transgressive.
