Rollercoaster 2
Imagine listening to The Fame Ball, then hearing the album after. Suck-a-rama. The performances should enhance what we've heard on an album, not prepare us to hear something less atmospheric and energy filled. It happened in the wrong order. That being said, I think she did the right thing performing there, I just think she chose some of the wrong songs and performed them a bit wrong. Should've been some hits and new songs mixed in.. Bad Romance, Swine, Applause, DWUW, MANiCURE, Sexxx Dreams, Gypsy, The Edge of Glory, Born This Way. No need for the others tbh.
nativenewyorker 1,190
Here we go again with all of you Little Managers, Little Producers, and Little Journalists. The album is not lacking any soul. Have you heard Venus, Sexxx Dreams, Aura, and Applause? Not to mention ARTPOP and Gypsy. I really wonder why some users get off on complaining about ARTPOP. This sh*t is getting old.

As opposed to little sitback and don't have an opinion-ers. Really, if people want to use their own minds and formulate opinions based on taste or based on a series of events that happened - who the hell are you to suddenly start using that pathetic excuse of a phrase to start degrading them? I'm just about sick of arrogant little bastards jumping around laying judgment on people for expressing what is basically a creative thought process. It just makes you a dick. I'm just about sick of arrogant little bastards jumping around laying judgment on people for expressing what is basically a creative thought process. It just makes you a dick. Here we go again. The point I'm trying to make is, these "creative thought processes" are not positive or constructive. The majority of these posts complaining about the era are from people who are boosting their ego by talking **** on the album and saying they could have done it better. That's not a f*cking creative thought process, that's being a dick. Never once did I imply that you shouldn't have an opinion on Gaga's work because that's obviously why we're all on this site. But when people are constantly discrediting ARTPOP by commenting on the promotion and production of the album as if they know more than professionals who actually do this for a living, it's pretty damn annoying. Yes, we can discuss the album and we're supposed to have our own opinions on it, but when it gets to the point where the same people go into every single thread and spread the same negativity and preach how it should've been done and how stupid Gaga and her team are for not doing it their way, it's like, stop beating a dead horse. This is when all the negativity starts affecting the experience for people who like ARTPOP for what is was, not what it could've been. Enough is enough. Not to mention when these members actually drag other members for enjoying the era, which is what your reply is aiming at. I certainly don't worship everything Gaga does and I don't think anyone on these boards does either. If you don't like it, that's cool, state your opinion. But remember, this is a fan site, not perezhilton. Chill out with the constant attacks on Gaga's career.

It's a general consensus on ARTPOP that the promo and production fell flat on their faces, though. Anything other than that is people chirping in with what should've happened, why x was a bad idea, etc etc. It is constructive, and people have the right to express themselves in that way without your petty and pathetic little labelling. We all know why the promotion was a mess. You can't promote an album without a manager setting up promotional opportunities. And it's no general consensus that the production was a mess, lol. That's your opinion.

EDM just isn't her thing, it's too soulless for the fanbase and obviously that translated into the album getting kicked to death by all and sundry. You kicking off because you don't agree, and namecalling, getting on some perceived high horse isn't going to do anything but make you look like a tool. This has turned into your opinions on the album which I honestly couldn't care less about. The opinion that ARTPOP's production is soulless isn't universal in the least bit. You must be scrolling past the posts where people say they actually like the album. And last time I checked, you called me a dick and a tool within the past half hour so watch what you say about name-calling.
Rollercoaster 2
What general consensus? I don't think ARTPOP is flat, and so does a huge amount of fans. People were not here for Zedd's production, or DJWS stuff that sounded damn near to Zedd. It was great in theory, but when it came along, majority of people (people no longer here, critics, general public) didn't go for the new sound because it was messy and lacked heart. Yes, alot of people like ARTPOP, me included, but for many more, they didn't like it. Numbers don't lie. The funny thing here is that the majority of her fans wanted her to do EDM before the album was released. Her fans are a weird bunch. They aren't quite sure what she is, and that's where she tries to please them but stumbles. Some of them want Britney 2 Some of them want Debbie Harry 2 Some of them want Madonna 2 Some of them want Marilyn Manson 2 Some of them want Kate Bush 2 She's never going to be able to please the majority of her fanbase when she's trying to adhere to those examples of popstars. She should do it her own way with guidance from professionals, not listen too much to what people are stanning for at any one particular point. Alien Tulip 12,428
I just think Gaga could have went to a different route musically for this album and channel a more relatable theme. She didn't evolve musically with this album and it just felt rushed and incomplete.
