Yanko 9,860
What's 'genuinely offensive' is your assumption at all fat people aren't healthy, and all skinny people take their health seriously. The dragging of AATB here is unnecessary: Meaghan when referring to "skinny b---hes" follows the line up with "I'm just playing - I know you think you're fat but every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top." She's saying that women are beautiful at any size, which I agree with - as long as they are healthy. As for Minaj, anyone who takes that outro seriously deserves to get mad. It's NICKI MINAJ - she's merely saying f*** those skinny b---hes in the club as a way of saying - move out of the way cause I'm here and I'm s-xy. It's an empowerment anthem for bigger girls - she's not actually saying that skinny women can't be s-xy too. As for the objectification of men a--logy, I'm merely saying that (like men), skinny women have been at the forefront of society with larger women being pushed to the sidelines never to be seen as s-xy. The reason all these songs are coming out now is because of the LACK of these type of ideals in media, and it's totally refreshing. "Eat up children. gagaisitalian 3,573
Anaconda explicitly says skinny b---hes so I'm gonna have to go with that song Same. I don't know why people are considering All About That Bass? Sure, same message, but Anaconda actually calls out skinny girls.
lavenderblondee 3,695
Yeah but it's a nicki minaj song. I don't expect any intellectual lyrics or anything and neither should she

aquaprincess 23
i think the point about if a skinny person or artist said "fat b---hes" then said "just kidding" is kinda ridiculous imo because the fact remains that big women get picked on more then skinny people.and being big is looked down on more in society than being skinny. yes both "skinny shaming" or " fat shaming" is wrong but imo meghan isnt doing that in her AATB song. i think people like natalia kills are making a bigger deal out of it than need be. i kinda see her point about NM's Anaconda, but it get twisted/invalidated when she goes on about AATB. jsn 1,648
I can't stand people complaining that songs like All About That Bass and Anaconda put larger women in a better light and talk like smaller women are being shunned or something. Because if you turn on any tv station, go see any movie, look through any magazine, basically look anywhere around you, skinny, smaller women are constantly praised and made to seem like the proper "normal" body type, and larger women are made out to be unhealthy and nasty. Hardly anyone complains that small women are loved 24/7, but suddenly when larger women are shown more acceptance and love, people get offended. And it's BS.

SEANGT 5,376
as someone who is naturally skinny I feel this. We shouldn't be shaming small bodies to make people with larger bodies more confident. At the same time, I would just *say that* instead of being rude to artists trying to empower women with bodies that are truly looked down upon by society. Not to make it a contest, but my skinny struggles don't even compare to what it's like for larger-bodied people. We just need to realize that all bodies are beautiful and stop comparing.
