Jonna Lee 384
I don't hear any similarities :koons: i like it when u treat me mean it turns my mood from black to blue
Quark 7,098
The thing is that if I have to tweak the song, then the song is not a "copy". Maybe only similar. 0:13 - 0:25 -> Accelerate this part, make it a bit more "noisy", and you've got the sound signature of Applause
MelbHawker 6,583
Doesn't sound like Swine at all... but it's a bop tbqh
Tropico 4,145
I forget that most fans on here only listen to Gaga and don't know the first thing about music so when you try to enlighten people they go back in their weave and won't tolerate it. You are trying so hard it's sad. Get over it. It doesn't sound much like Swine. It's just got a few similar beats. :staymad: ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Levine 23,578
This is a very common sound. It's better than Swine (please, don't kill me), but they are different. So you think that a month and a half before Swinefest DJWS made the instrumental for Swine ? Exactly.
Miel 15,009
omg at 1:15 it's so similar I hope she never works with DJWS alone again. Go back to Fernando. In Gaga's and all the producers' defense, all the sections pointed out in the song are very commonly used and structured in many EDM, dance, and even contemporary pop songs. That said, I don't think they ripped off this song, but it just proves how generic a lot of the production on this album was. Swine sounds like a million other EDM instrumentals and Gaga could have laid vocals over any of them and there would be little to no difference. Yeah. As much as I love the album, I noticed how a lot of it used very general, common techniques. Not that any of her other albums were hella experimental or anything, just that ARTPOP soncially sounded a lot more to the common sound. 3 points in and ready for more

Wootan 0
The thing is that if I have to tweak the song, then the song is not a "copy". Maybe only similar. It's not a copy of course, but the chords progression is really similar. It's not a big deal though, it's pretty hard to do something "original" and "new" nowadays. miroe 24
It's a typical EDM build up. I don't hear any copying, though. Do you regularly listen to EDM? This is pretty standard.

Tropico 4,145
Then WHY would I have even LOOKED? My GOD you people.. trying to say something didn't happen to me when it CLEARLY DID! I I made no accusations I opened it up for discussion.. but I DO hear similarities... WHICH is why I looked up the stupid thing in the first place! UGH!!!! I'm not saying you didn't hear it... I'm just saying that I doubt the moment you heard this song you were like "omg is this swine?" Or anything like that. And for this so called "discussion" you've brought to the table you seem to be pretty close-minded about the whole thing... Some of us don' hear it. And I'm just saying that maybe you heard the brief similar beats like most of us did and idk... Assumed the worst, maybe? ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Born Brave 2,072
Ending of swine "paint your face" part 2:00 Oinks at 3:13 after the beat drop.. (but dont listen for oinks in this song, just the drums and the timing, WANTED TO DUMB THAT DOWN FOR YOU) NO not the whole song is swine verbatim but things are VERY close when you know where to listen.. maybe that was my fault and assumed the average person could just pick it out.. Wet Fire 7,504
It's not that uncommon in EDM.
TroubleClef 0
I hear the similarities. But I think it is common EDM structure and format. I like the song too.
