To those who didn't appreciate ARTPOP..

I'm not saying she has to do it right now

I'm just saying she has the money to be able to do so and it would be nice if she could stretch the era out for a little while longer and give people a chance to understand it. I'm actually saying that AFTER she finished her tour, releases C2C and her perfume it would be cool if she made a few more videos for ARTPOP. You know, after she has gotten the money from these projects? 

2 videos seems underwhelming for a Gaga era.

I had mild expectations for ARTPOP, I had a bad feeling as soon as she broke her hip, and the concept always seemed fuzzy to me.

 

I have very high expectations for the next one cause I think she'll be more inspired than she's been in a long time, and she's back in the underdog position. She'll finally be creatively liberated to not make the same formulaic dance-pop songs, so we might get a real masterpiece.

To be honest, among all the monsters that I know, I am one of the fans who appreciate this album the most. This is my favorite album of Lady Gaga's, I like ARTPOP so much more than The Fame. The album has a diversity of melody, the music is unique and different, with some unforgettable iconic images and themes that she used for the album.

 

I never had low expectations on ARTPOP, I knew it was going to be different and I was so hyped because DJ White Shadow was announced the main producer of ARTPOP and I loved the tracks that he produced on Born This Way. I mean after listening to Bloody Mary, Black Jesus + Amen Fashion and Electric Chapel, how could I still have low expectations on ARTPOP? And it came out, I wasn't disappointed. I fcking loved it.

 

The only thing that I had low expectations on was the charts, and it turned out to be true. G.U.Y. couldn't even get into top 20! But it's still Gaga's fault that the song flopped. She was poorly managed and I didn't see her trying to fix things after the snubbing of DWUW video. If she was managed properly, she could have still charted like Do What U Want and Marry The Night, which aren't really bad. But G.U.Y.'s performance is unacceptable.

 

The new album is bound to still have great and insane melodies like usual. But the charts? I don't know. I just hope the promotion and management go smooth.

ARTPOP isn't Gaga's worst album, so no, my expectations haven't been lowered.

BTW and TFM are her best, yes, but ARTPOP is nowhere even close to being a bad pop album. It's the best pop album since BTW (Beyonce came close) and so Gaga really is still the pop queen to me tbh.

The music to me is still really good, ARTPOP is a great pop album. I was just disappointed with the era as a whole. Also the name of the album and the way she tries to create deep meanings for songs that are just pop songs like any other. That pisses me off so much.

I honestly think her best work is yet to come. She only scraped the surface with BTW.

 

I agree with this. I think Gaga is really dipping her feet in different waters and still "learning" in many ways. She's very talented, knows what she's doing, and has been consistent in many aspects (like putting ART in POP) throughout her career, but I don't think she's reached the peak of her artistry yet. 

 

And it's possible that when she gets to that "YES. THIS is Gaga" moment of her artistry that truly defines who she is as an artistic person that it won't get the recognition it deserves from the general public, so when I say "peak of her artistry," I don't mean "peak of her career."

BTW was huge letdown to me apart from few songs so my expectations were already lowered for ARTPOP. Now they are set even lower tbh. I hope she will surprise me!

But now i really appreciate BORN THIS WAY. I think that what I could not stand about it is how messy its era was. But I love the songs. As for ARTPOP, I think its quality is way inferior to her former projects, so yes, my expectations have been lowered
