Sometime in 2008 when I heard Poker Face on the radio. But I did not like her then (Poker Face still isn't one of my favorites).

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

I first saw her perform at Second Chance Prom in Austin, TX in 2008. It was a week or so after LoveGame released on radio, so she had three singles released already. The turnout was pretty big and you could feel that no one had ever seen her life and the curiosity was tantamount. She came out in a sparkly blue jumpsuit and a blonde bob, of course with her disco stick, and tore the house down.

I got my first exposure to the Gaga Monologues as I call them; she was talking about how she'd work at bars and clubs and dance on the bar counters and leave men (and women) thirsty. I became obsessed with her after that.

I remember thinking "woah her voice is so much bigger than I'd assumed," and she did an encore performance of PokerFace which blew everyone away. On her way out our hands touched, and I mouthed "great show" to her and she grinned and nodded. At the time touching her didn't mean all that much; sort of felt like a higher budget drag show (i.e. entertaining but accessible). Now when I look back I'm like "damn, I touched Lady Gaga's hand." lol

EDIT: Whoops you're talking about the music itself? In that case it was listening to Pokerface before it became a single; I don't remember how I discovered it but I remember being unsure of whether it was a woman or a drag queen pitching her voice, lol. I guess the word "Lady" threw me. I showed the song to my friend and she liked her. A few months later Gaga became a thing.

Never said I was, I just want to spread my love and appreciation for lady gaga. NoH8 so please just share your gaga experience. I'm not saying anything about the people who have seen gaga in the flesh even though I should HATE them according to how you react to my appreciation, so please. When did you first experience gaga (music, video)

My first Gaga experience was seeing the Just Dance video on TV in late 2008. Didn't really catch my attention though. When I started paying more attention to her, she had already released Poker Face.

Summer 2008 - was waiting for my mom to come out of the movie theatre (we had been seeing The Dark Knight earlier that night) and I heard Just Dance being played on Sirius XM Hits 1 and was instantly intrigued - especially about her name I remember at first. #MonsterSince08
