Benji 20,113
I'm not against it. And I definitely see similarities between the two. What annoys me is that people just bash an album (because honestly we are divided into 3 - there are TF/TFM fans, BTW fans & ARTPOP fans) without supporting their argument with some thoughts/explanations... So my point is - OK, it's all right if u say ARTPOP sucks and the Fame is the best. Just support your argument so I can see it... I don't think ARTPOP sucks though, I do like it I just don't feel like it's her best, it's still good though It's just the easiest album to compare The Fame to because of how commercially aimed they are! I'm personally the biggest fan of Born This Way but I also appreciate how good the other three albums are, it's just The Fame is always given the bum end of the deal just because it was released first
Lona Delery 7,214
My problem with TF is that the singles are great, but the other songs are pretty bad imo. Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

She's a big perfectionist. And about my statement ''If you don't like....'' I didn't mean your particular opinion just in general whoever reads it. I actually know yours because you've always said the same thing about ARTPOP throughout numerous threads and it's very consistent.
Bear 7,515
The Fame was amazing. It had some masterpieces on it. The lyrics were great and had meaning, the whole album stood out to every other artist at the time. We had amazing performances from it, and the singles were hits. We had music and the bling tbh
ARTPOPHooker96 0
It is tbh. And my fave from TF is the title track
FRANK1991 3,329
in a way yes when I heard ARTPOP my first reaction was that it's a new version of THE FAME. almost all the themes are the same except new themes like being with fans and away from her lover... Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
Alien Tulip 12,428
It's my favorite album. Every track flows so well with the conceptual theme. Gaga fans here love to call it her "worst" because they weren't fans from the fame era and are probably jealous they didn't get to witness all of the amazing memories that it hold. Usually btw - ARTPOP era fans criticize it and call it trashy but more of the adult fans like me that were fans from the beginning appreciate the album and era as her best work yet. Tropico 4,145
Oh just leave it to the bitter TF/TFM stans to find a way to involve dragging ARTPOP in a discussion which has nothing to do with it. The Fame is easily imo her worst work. It's just so childish. The way she sings, the way she dressed like a barbie and the overall vibe of the album and era is too childish for me. And I understand this is all apart of the concept so okay. It's also so chart-hungry with bops which are just meant to fill up the album and get sales. This is why I see it as a huge Filler album. Maybe it's because it's her debut she had to be so... "Basic". And just by the f--king way ARTPOP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Fame but that's just my opinion. :fan: ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢

Such a stupid assumption omfg. The reason many (even those who were here since the beginning) consider it her worst varies. But I know a large majority (myself included) consider it too childish and "basic" in overall delivery. The sales has nothing to do with it... Most of the older (not age but how long they've been here) stans are the ones obsessed with the charts and drag everything after those 2 albums because she isn't on top anymore. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢

It's not "basic" as ARTPOP in my opinion. It didn't have try hard songs like Jewels N' Drugs and guy. I for sure don't care about charts and dont even follow them because that's not my job. If you haven't witnessed the fame era you can't really judge how amazing it truly was but I'm not surprised since a lot of fans were only like 10 - 14 during the fame era. Sugarfall 3,723
I sometimes feel like that album has 2 Extremes Some fans love it so much that they Keep crying 'I want old gaga back :'( ARTPOP sucks' and then we have the ones who don't like it as much as her newer work. I personally only like the singles+Starstruck, money honey and paper gangsta. Biggest no for me is her annoying voice on most songs. Also a lot of the lyrics are imo bad. giskardsb 12,565
TF is by far her pop-iest album. Pokerface and Paparazzi are great songs and a few other good songs but most of it doesn't stand out to me, especially musically. It's by far her safest album and most controlled. RAMROD 109,618
Kidding? TF and TFM was like the only albums that mattered here. Specially in BTW era, everyone here hating BTW like a disease. Calling it overproduced and all sorts of thing. But now they appreaciate it and move on to hating ARTPOP for being a flop. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
The Fame IS underrated on GGD. The concept is totally misunderstood and the entire era is considered as something mainstream and commercial, senseless and without any proper artistry. These people obviously don't know anything about this album. Just watch some of her very first interviews, look at her outfits and videos, you will find a lot of cultural and artistic references. In all honesty, I really think this is when she worked the most on a project. There were so many different vocals and instrumentals for each song. There were interludes, technology, outfits crafted by the Haus,... And the list goes on... Not my favorite album, but by far my favorite era. Spot on. It's really only underrated by some newer Gaga fans, I would say the public and general pop fans still recognize it as her peak. BTW is the real underrated album/era.
