AuraTommy 0 Posted August 10, 2014 Share Posted August 10, 2014 This may not make any sense but here's a thought I just had Maybe gaga wants this perfume to be unis-x because she wants to challenge the ideas of gender/s-x connotations. Over time we have been taught to prefer fragrances that "cater" to our genders (floral scents for women, earthy/ musky for lack of a better word/ scents for men). This whole idea probably goes back to early perfumers in s-xist times creating scents for people based off gender roles, like making muskier, harsher scents for the hard working man and light floral scents for the stay at home woman. Maybe gaga wants a fragrance that has no gender divide and wants people to question their connotations between fragrance and masculinity/femininity?
