Scotty 87
Maybe she will in the future, but for now she's showed no signs at all of pushing any boundaries. And this is coming from a Katy fan.
Battle 4 Ur Life 6,711
Let's stop talking about Katy, pleeeeeeease, shall we? “Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”
AmenTheNight 1,084
Katy you're nice, but stop making statements like this, you know pretty well how the whole "dark" thing turned out with PRISM.
HotMessyGags 0
If Prism was indication for her derk ablem then I don't want to imagine what her pusing boundaries album will be Edited August 6, 2014 by HotMessyGags
PopBitch 1,218
You guys claim her to be childish, but have your heard the second half of PRISM? The second half is nothing cute/childish, it's honestly and truth. Like I said before, the first half is use for commercial success, to make the bling. PRISM is nothing like Teenage Dream expect for a few songs. Anyway, I'm excited to see how Katy's music will change. Just saw the Prismatic World Tour (today, well it's yesterday now, anyway) the acoustic section was beautiful. Katy + guitar = flawless masterpiece. I do laugh when the Gaga snobs bash her for shallow music, when the album had grown-up, mature themes about the pain of divorce and loss and depression and that moment of wanting the pain to end and finding the light and love again. She did go through a divorce and heartbreak and that is something terribly painful and adult and finding love again after feeling unwanted is a deep subject. That is not manufactured pain and she did write and sing about it. I think some of the music was lacking in many ways and she has a long ways to go songwriting on some songs, but I would never take away from her that she wrote some more reflective, deeper songs on Prism that were confessional and that others could relate to that I enjoyed. Eggsy 8,280
I call bull****, she sure as hell will do anything to stay in the spotlight.
ByeBye49 161
I am actually quite willing to give her a chance with this, If she shows us that she can do more than write multiple versions of Teenage Dream.... I might actually stan for her again. As long as she goes through with this and she isn't calling bs, this could go quite well. Having said that, I will believe it when I see it. IHE 563
The poor girl is just saying what she wants to do in the future and the entire fanbase is making fun of her. Who knows, maybe she will succeed to do something interesting and experimental. The same goes for Gaga, when she says she wants to do something experimental, I choose to believe her. If it doesn't work, sad for her, but at least she tried or had the idea. Just in case, the last time Gaga did something experimental and "risky" was when she released Born This Way. "She walks where the people before her have already walked and she release remixes in order to get number 1 records." -> This is exactly what Gaga did a few months ago with DWUW... It's a good song and I totally understand why she wanted to make it successful. There is nothing wrong with doing something commercial or "radio-friendly", as long as you're happy with your creations. We all have different goals in life, and no matter the goal, they are all equal. I'm not arguing that, but there isn't any irony in Gaga's fans laughing at Katy's statements because she has a track record of seeking number ones constantly and keeping it vanilla. On top of that she re-uses other pop star's recent ideas. Everything about her feels fake and contrived. Gaga has a track record of pissing people off and making decisions that make people dislike her. When Gaga talks about pushing boundaries, she actually pushes them. If Katy really wants to push boundaries, fine great, do it then. Don't puke after others have puked. Don't make fun of other pop stars philosophies then turn around and try to mimic their work thematically. If she can managed to stop watering down herself and the work of others for a minute and actually take a real risk, sure, I'll salute her but at this juncture, I don't respect her work and I don't like her personality. There's a reason I'm a Gaga fan on a Gaga forum. I feel for you though because you obviously really like Katy but this is GGD and most people here aren't going to like her much. For that reason I am not a member of any forums for any of the other girls. I'd spend all day defending Gaga on sites that aren't even hers. If Katy does something really awesome and inspired and stops being shady towards Gaga, I'd totally be here for that. She came so close with Circle the Drain. NathanC 938
She's been pushing the boundaries for the past 4 record... The boundaries between a 12 year old girl edging on 13 :MANiCURE:
Shaney 5,515
Why does it sound like I was reading a Gaga interview? Katy, sis. Enjoy ya fame and make your music. Miel 15,009
I don't doubt that she can make good music (some of her songs, individually, are absolutely amazing- shame Unconditionally didn't get big, because imo it's one of her best). However, everything about the quotations seems so... contrived. 3 points in and ready for more
