She is ARTPOP since TFM , wake up ARTPOP was just a celebration of her way to do her job.

I wasn't alive back then but I'm quite sure Madonna's erotic behavious wasn't favoured by everyone but it has had an impact on the pop girls today.

Like I said... In the future.

And Gaga promised a lot. And she brought a lot.

There is more to it all than an app and some music video you know...

The message from the beginning has been puting art into pop. The whole time.

0 contribution to the topic.

Great answers I love your thread and the wah you explain your ideas ! :)

I do think, even if the theme wasn't well executed, that Gaga will be remember as the pop star that brought a little bit of art in the pop industry. See, even MTV compared Katy ARTPOPish feel saying it was Gagaesque. And you are right, this will be noticable in the future only. But I think the chances are strong. It depends if people will follow this trend or not.

But why are you bringing up Madonna's erotic behavior when this is far different from her. Of course in the future, but I still don't see it having an impact. Also, I'm not just referring to the app (I've never even been on it) or the music videos. The fashion was disappointing at time as well. The most ARTPOP she's gotten was her collaboration with Wilson. Still, I don't see how that would have an effect on pop music. Will people start to appreciate the artist more in the future? Maybe. As a result of Gaga? Most likely not; everyone thinks of hers as a poser.

Not true @ Wilson being the only collaborator. She worked with many other artist and one being internationally known artist Jeff Koons.

And what fashion did Gaga promise us?

And I compare to Madonna because like ARTPOP certain things aren't favored by the general public but in the future will have a more obvious impact on pop culture.

And the impact I mean is maybe pop icons collaborating with art icons to create ARTPOP for example Swine live at SXSW. Maybe Gaga's ARTPOP can be the bridge between art and pop? That is my question.

Again, I love you ! I think exactly the same way. You are totally right. She truly worked with prestigious name in the art industry and pushed it forward.

When did I say Wilson was the only collaborator?

My answer is still a no.

I never said otherwise. :awkney:

I'm just saying ARTPOP more embraced the idea and was focused on ARTPOP specifically. While Gaga has been doing it since forever she has finally taken it to a whole new level of commitment now that she doesn't have to focus on another concept.

Let's hope. But even if it did inspire other people, it's not like they'd site her. Apparently it's not "cool" to be inspired by Lady Gaga.

No one cares about artpop not even the fans

Very far from the truth.

Look at Katy's new video. It already has. The problem is, I don't think people will acknowledge ARTPOP for having started this "art in pop" thing.

i think it'll be very appreciated after she's dead, peoples work tend to get more "classic" and appreciated after the artist passes. Or even after they get old (ei. madonna, cher).

I'm not just saying this as a fan, but I don't think people truly understand/appreciate BTW's (and gaga's) impact on societal change. A lot has happened since 2008. Hell--even in 2009 it was still 'lame' to stand up for LGBT rights. What did gaga do? Crusade for equality--not caring if people would dismiss her for standing up for LGBT rights and causes. Gaga's contribution towards equality for all people, whether people acknowledge it or not, was a huge catalyst and impetus to make the world a better place, and that was further expanded upon with BTW--her 'preachings' sparked an unconscious movement. Gaga will do great things in the future and will no doubt have an influence on society and culture, but she will never top her impact on societal change, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

I think my biggest problem with her 'ARTPOP' movement is that the stuff she is doing now, is the least 'ARTPOP' things she's ever done. She was more ARTPOP in TFM and BTW than she is now. I think that because she called this album ARTPOP, that fans are just calling everything this era as ART, and it just doesn't compare to things she's done in the past. The vessel, the paparazzi performance, the meat dress, even the lobster hat and Kermit dress, and fame perfume and campaign--all this stuff and any other trumps everything she's done this era.

Since TF, actually...

Candy Warhol, all her works around the Metropolis theme (photoshoots, her Paparazzi music video, outfits,...), some of the outfits she crafted with the help of the Haus of Gaga (origami dress for example). Just a few examples out of a long list.

I don't think ARTPOP will create a movement because I think the movement already began quite a while ago and thus ARTPOP is part of that movement
