Mills 446
Will this kind of historic event get tons of media mileage? Yes, absolutely. Milestones are always well-covered. But can it guarantee a #1 smash hit? No. It'll always depend on the song itself. There's not even a certainty on whether she'd actually release a new single and/or an album in early 2015. Creyk 17,817
I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't happen due to creative differences, or how being in space "alters her voice" or something. If it does happen, well if not no. 1, but top 10 for sure Come on Gaga sing G.U.Y give it a second chance

squeala 875
Some members actually said that it can guarantee a #1 single and a #1 album for Gaga. But really how huge is it going to be? It has nothing to do with promo for a song or album. She'll go down in history for this performance. It will serve as "promo" for Gaga as an icon
Emvee 8,405
Don't underestimate the power of Gaga. Fans, haters combined would flock to see something like this, and most people would be interested in seeing the first live performance in space, which is what I'm sure would be advertised for publicity. This wouldn't only be held by her own team, whose promotion efforts in the past years have been rather...lackluster, to say the least. There will be other celebrities on the flight who will no doubt be promoting the hell out of it on any occasion they get. This isn't like the VMA's or Grammy's where it's held yearly and everyone expects it to happen, and the stars do their semi-obligatory promotion to win awards. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the people on the flight, and they will fawn over their chance to go. It's likely that at least one of their promotional teams would drum up quite a bit of attention for the event, as well as the hosts. At this point, something out of the hands of Gaga's promotional team would most likely be better than if they were in charge. People get excited over the Olympics, every four years. People get excited over the World Cup, every four years. People even get excited over bi-yearly eclipses. These things captivate the media. If the first live performance in space is to occur, the media and people all over the world will rush to see the event. Those are very inclusive events. Different demographics tune in to see their favorite artists or teams beat out the competition. They tune in to see wide variety of personalities, not just one. Miley Cyrus' VMA performance did not blow up because everyone was watching for her. It blew up because many people were watching for many reasons. I'm not saying anything definitive here, but I am saying that her team needs to really think about how they're going to capture a big audience like the Super Bowl or Grammys do... for just ONE person - Gaga. Or maybe they don't even need a big audience, but they do need a reason for people to share the performance on social media. Yeah, space is great, but it's not the thing that will make people want to share the performance with friends and family. The performance will either need to be spectacular... or controversial in a very refreshing way.
hughdancy 282
Depends if Sarah Brightman finds a way to beat her there. I mean, it was her idea first... Right. Sarah Brightman was the first person to come up with performing in space

Bloody Matt 5,357
I think she'll have a single ready for June 2015 (it's when this festival is happening)... I mean the tour ends in November... She's going to have six months to reharse and writing new music. Don't take the wait for ARTPOP because a lot of delays happened for obvious reasons But she can perform whatever she wants, if she's going to perform. The performance will either need to be spectacular... or controversial in a very refreshing way. Is it even certain that she's the only one performing? Is it not possible that people will tune in to see the flight take off? There have been many rockets go up into space, but many would tune in because a bunch of celebrities are being flown up there. The imminent "what if something happens?" people will watch, and there are plenty of those. Interest in all forms will surround this. I'm sure Gaga's performance isn't the only hype and interest-producing part of this flight. The performance isn't the only thing happening. You can't say that people - CELEBRITIES - going up into space is not a big deal. You're underestimating the interest that people will have in it. Not everyone's going to watch this for the performance exclusively. It's not like this is just another Gaga performance and she just happens to be going into space to perform. This is people going into space, well known people. To deny the excitement surrounding that alone is ridiculous. I'm sure Gaga will use this opportunity to her advantage to the best of her ability. Let's not forget that Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Lance Bass will also be on this flight, likely performing as well due to the fact that it's a music festival, the inclusive event you are implicating drums up attention. If those four celebrities are going up to space with everyone thinking "are they gonna return", do you honestly think this is going to be a small event? Yes, let's all turn off our TV's and go out for Taco Bell when three of the biggest pop stars of today are being rocketed into space for the first performance there! Bradley 59,064
I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't happen due to creative differences, or how being in space "alters her voice" or something. If it does happen, well if not no. 1, but top 10 for sure Come on Gaga sing G.U.Y give it a second chance Oh wait, that could revive G.U.Y. but she will probably get bashed by critics for trying to revive an old song, they expect new materials definitely. Yeah is everyone expecting a new album in 2015? Because that's actually really soon and I highly doubt it. They said 2015, they never said the beginning of 2015, so if it's mid or late 2015, a whole new album is possible. Who knows if Gaga is already planning an album secretly? Rihanna can create an album in 2 weeks and smash every country with it. If RedOne reunites with Gaga, they will make insane material for sure. In short time? Nothing is impossible to RedOne. I think she'll have a single ready for June 2015 (it's when this festival is happening)... I mean the tour ends in November... She's going to have six months to reharse and writing new music. Nemo 4,293
I love this look. It says "I'm an astronaut, b---h." She isn't going to be the first one! Didnt they say Gaga will be the finale of the concert? She's the only performer going to space, AFAIK. The rest of the concert is on the ground. She's going to end up singing a cover of Space Oddity, lbr. That would be a good song choice, IMHO, except this guy beat her to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poZCINzxzrQ
