aaronyoji 2,054
"Some members actually said that it can guarantee a #1 single and a #1 album for Gaga" I know this probably isn't your point, but that doesn't matter. At the core, being the first person to perform in space isn't a promotional platform for Gaga to launch her latest single. It's a historic event that she'll be remembered for. She's the first performer to EVER perform live outside of our planet. That's huge! i totally agree. people need to just glean on the sentimental value that such a great opportunity is being presented. not everything is a promo grab. if i had to choose her performance being remembered over her performance making a certain single or album sell well i prefer the former. no one's gonna remember a chart position, but they'll remember an unforgettable performance. Emvee 8,405
In my mind, it's going to be a pretty basic performance considering the constraints of space. I pray that her vocals will be top notch for the occasion. But, unless it's massively publicized, it won't do much for her career commercially in the long or even short term (which, is what this fan base is waiting for). I doubt the average joe will tune in for something as exclusive as Gaga in Space. I mean, I can practically feel the eye rolls already from everyone's cynical asses. Chic 20,830
im kinda tired of this comeback thing .she is here btch Not to the GP. The media ridicule during the ARTPOP era was at a record high for Gaga, and the album underperformed in terms of sales. Her tour isn't even in the top ten grossing this time around, which is a scary thought, but luckily for an artist like Gaga, she has the potential to come back stronger than ever. This is a dip in her career, hopefully temporarily, and people like Gaga tend to have massive hits again and again, such as Madonna or Britney Spears (although Britney's rather underwhelming in the past few years due to her lack of passion in her career, her 2007 breakdown and her inability to dance up to her previous standards as a result of her knee injury back in the early-mid 2000's). Basically, she has the type of star power and iconic image/artistry to once again dominate the pop scene. It's interesting to see, as she is one of the biggest stars named heir apparent to the queen of pop throne that Madonna has held this far and she also happens to have the most involvement in her work out of most of her contemporaries. Don't underestimate the power of Gaga. Fans, haters combined would flock to see something like this, and most people would be interested in seeing the first live performance in space, which is what I'm sure would be advertised for publicity. This wouldn't only be held by her own team, whose promotion efforts in the past years have been rather...lackluster, to say the least. There will be other celebrities on the flight who will no doubt be promoting the hell out of it on any occasion they get. This isn't like the VMA's or Grammy's where it's held yearly and everyone expects it to happen, and the stars do their semi-obligatory promotion to win awards. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the people on the flight, and they will fawn over their chance to go. It's likely that at least one of their promotional teams would drum up quite a bit of attention for the event, as well as the hosts. At this point, something out of the hands of Gaga's promotional team would most likely be better than if they were in charge. People get excited over the Olympics, every four years. People get excited over the World Cup, every four years. People even get excited over bi-yearly eclipses. These things captivate the media. If the first live performance in space is to occur, the media and people all over the world will rush to see the event.
GagaDragon 10
If the media are against her now then they will be kissing her ass later on. People love the story of a fallen star to rise from the ashes and come back stronger. The major factor here is the song, if it's good then she will slay! if it's bad then it will be the worst thing that can happen.
EdX 2,862
It will, of course. But I really hope she hasn't forgotten about it. Because no one has talked about it since November. inb4 delayed till 2019 :toofloppy: also, I don't think the song matters THAT much. It will be a huge success anyway. Probably, something space related.
