Economy 52,866
http://www.forbes.com/sites/briansolomon/2014/08/01/jobs-report-u-s-economy-adds-209000-jobs-in-july-unemployment-ticks-up-to-6-2/July saw a gain of 209,000 jobs making it the 6th month in a row over 200,000 jobs are created. The last time such a streak happened was in 1997. Manufacturing also expanded once again for the 14th month in a row and consumer spending rose Unemployment went up slightly to 6.2% as more discouraged workers who had given up looking for work re-entered the workforce... Although the economic growth appears to be accelerating, it is still fragile. Also normal employment is still at least 2-3 years away even with faster growth! Overall economic indicators make good news reports... but the U.S. is a large and geographically divided area. Much of the growth can be attributed to certain regions while other areas that are in a depressionary economy remain so. The energy sector is the primary driver right now with a little bit of recovery for manufacturing ... also the agricultural sector is in mid season. As the year progresses the economy should maintain, but I can see a potential for a skid come next winter and then the elections will begin. The elections are significant because both parties will be slinging mud at each other ... scaring the **** out of everyone who is on the opposite side of their party... like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. There has been significant growth in energy yes but it hasnt been the "main" driver of growth Also the same can be said for any large Country about the division... Here in Canada for instance economic growth has been extremely uneven. The parts of Canada that were already rich still have 3% or more growth while the parts that already had high unemployment continue to underperform

Here in Canada for instance economic growth has been extremely uneven. The parts of Canada that were already rich still have 3% or more growth while the parts that already had high unemployment continue to underperform The Service sector grows when consumers spend money... Those with good paying jobs are buying 'stuff' from goods and services....since the main influx of spending is coming from oil production... I would have to say that the current growth is ' mainly ' driven by the energy sector. Auto sales are up which helps a number of manufacturing areas as we'll. Trade is weak however, so I am a bit concerned about the economy of the EU and Asia. Canada seems to benefit from the US , so hopefully they will be able to grow too...8-) What I see NY state doing right now is interesting... They are offering 10 years tax free start ups on new businesses in some of the weak areas... Meaning. That the people and the money is there, but they need incentive to get things started. If it works, others states may adopt a similar policy to help out some of the economically weak regions . like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. Well if u mean in terms of the primary industry where the growth begins from yeah i would say energy is one of the biggest from a fundamental view point taking into account its ripple effect. But from a direct view most jobs and GDP has still been service And the USA has one advantage Canada does not. Due to your higher population density the US manufactures more of its own goods. Especially durable goods. Your economy in essense is more domestic. Exports are only 10% of your economy. Countries like Canada, Sweden, Norway etc we import almost everything we use and we export almost everything. So higher consumer spending here does very little for manufacturing This unlike in the US where manufacturing has been improving, in Canada manufacturing wont improve until trade really improves... Until then only resourse rich Canada in the US will have strong economy The US numbers are looking fantastic tho!
