Godspoken 1
"Drawing Restraint", "Volta" and "Biophilia", are basically the same album = brass. Bjork said that "Biophilia" is Volta Prt. 2. So that's 3 albums in a row. Volta is nothing like Biophilia...It's so much more consumable than Biophilia. Catchier. If anything, you should be praising Volta; it's her least experimental album in a long time.

The Dull Flame of Desire (sounds like "Medulla") I See Who You Are Vertebrae by Vertebrae Pneumonia Hope My Juvenile zzzzzzz Declare Independence was a song Mark Bell had already been playing. Bjork just added lyrics, basically half-assing it. It wasn't new. While "Wanderlust" was more digestible, it was a rehash of her older stuff. A paint-by-numbers song. That video was ridiculous too, and it took them months to complete. They even had to use Craigslist to raise funds and get assistance. Her priorities are out of place. Nothing besides the first single was consumable. It was a mess. She spent her award money to make "Biophilia" and had little money left over for promotion. That pisses me off. She could have dropped the pretentiousness, and did a proper album that the public would have embraced. Even fans didn't like "Biophilia", but worked overtime to force themselves to like it. They do that a lot. Had Bjork not produced those first three albums, I would give her a pass. It's just that those masterpieces show what she's capable of producing. Bjork 1
Bjork has to stop with the pretentious nature, pagan, non-melodic "music" bull**** already! Good Christ! There are so many people that think she's only capable of this avant-garde bull****. This is the woman who started what the pop world turned into. She put Nelle Hooper and Maurius de Vries on the map! Bjork is a POP artist. She can try to deny this, and pretend to be something she's not, but she is pop, and that's where her skills always were. No one can beat "Debut", "Post", or "Homogenic". I don't know what happened to her. Was it Matthew Barney? When you read her earlier interviews where she discusses him, you get the sense that he is the reason why she's on the course she's on now. She collaborated with him on "Drawing Restraint 9" after all, doing the entire soundtrack. "Drawing Restraint", "Volta" and "Biophilia", are basically the same album = brass. Bjork said that "Biophilia" is Volta Prt. 2. So that's 3 albums in a row. She puts me to sleep now. Every album has a gimmick. She keeps doing this thing where she relies heavily on one instrument, thus, denying certain songs of the instrumentation they need to work. She needs to ring up Nelle Hooper, and get her balls back! I can't believe her music videos of the past ten years either. She used to be revolutionary. Now, we get stuff like "Earth Intruders", just her head. I love her fanbase that proclaims that she's an artist and not in it for the money. LMFAO!!! This woman is all about $$$. She re-releases crap a million times, and sells special editions for $500. Her fans lap it up. She knows her sheep. I'm fine with an experimental album from time to time, but not consistently. "Medulla" should have been the end of it. 90s Bjork = LIFE!!! I actually love Bjork's more experimental material. It's something that's fresh, unique, original. I disagree with some of your points but hey, it's your opinion. Vespertine imo is a good album though right?
