I must also add that I completely disagree about the "40 second Sacrifice thing". The Matthew Herbert remix of Sacrifice is beautiful and fits very well with the album in my humble opinion, I only wish it were longer.

Yes, that's how I should have put it. It's not the mix itself, it's the fact it's so short I find rather annoying. It doesn't have time to develop.

As for Biophilia itself, I don't see it as a repetition in any way. The nature theme has always been part of her work and there's plenty to work with. She's always been interested in joining nature and technology and Biophilia is the continuation of that. It's a continued exploration of themes and aesthetics that fascinate and inspire her. I find it surprising to hear again and again the pretentiousness argument. What some see as pretentious, I see as audacity and desire to explore musical and conceptual possibilities. I find it more pretentious when a pop star hardly works on his or her music, barely sings live and puts this out, as if it had any musical merit worth discussing. Dumbing down music is pretentious. What can be criticized, in terms of taste, in Bjork's recent output is it's minimalism. I can understand that being a turn off for some. But saying it's pretentious is just a lazy argument in my opinion.

This is such a great quote :

“sually when you see females in movies, they feel like they have these metallic structures around them, they are caged in by male energy. But she could be at her full volume without restrictions.â€

I tend to agree with the placement of the album the author proposes, although my own order tends to vary ;)

My ranking (Best to worst):

1. Vespertine

2. Homogenic

3. Medulla

4. Biophilia

5. Volta

6. Post

7. Debut

Biophilia isn't her best album, but it definitely isn't her worst. Debut and Post, while wonderful in their time, sound extremely dated whereas her other music does not. Give or take a few songs, such as Hyperballad of course.

For me, Biophilia falls right in the middle.

Nice! Even though I have all the albums, I still kinda want the surrounded set. A local record shop has the Volta vinyl and I think the deluxe cd cause it's $20... but I'm not sure. I still have to get live box too, but I have them on mp3. :giggle:

I'll probably end up buying the live albums on itunes. When I stick the live box cds in to import the to itunes it shows up a "Track 1, Track 2,ect" I'm too lazy to put in the album name and track titles for each cd XD Awesome! I need to get Vinyls of her albums
