HermioneGranger 608
I said it for fun relax. Still The Hobbit movies are better. No, I wont. I know I'm right. If you've read the book you should know that the movies are bad. YOU are wrong.
VforVendetta 2,024
It's just so big for no reason. There were 20 minutes of the dwarves being lost in the forest thingy. And the dragon scene as well as the Gollum scene in the 1st were big for reason aswell. It's just the fact that there is no material for 3 films and they are stretching out. Then you probably haven't readen the book cause these scenes are all that big or even bigger in the book. These scenes are big for a reason, they are important parts of the book. One scene that didn't need to be that long and I agree is the barels scene but it was interesting for the movie so it's ok. No, I wont. I know I'm right. If you've read the book you should know that the movies are bad. YOU are wrong. I've readen not only The Hobbit but all the books regarding Middle Earth and no, the movies are great. They are not as good as TLOTR but the book wasn't either.
Miel 15,009
We all know who's gonna die anyway lol It's just so big for no reason. It's just the fact that there is no material for 3 films and they are stretching out. How much material did they add from the Silmarillion? I thought that was what they were gonna use to fill in the gaps. I love The Hobbit films, but there are distinctive areas in which I felt could have been less... inflated. 3 points in and ready for more
Logan 20,727
Can't wait to see how they tie things together! And I just realized they used the song from Return OfThe King

These parts he mentions are as big in the book as in the movies. Some parts have beens added from The SIlamrillion and the Unfinished Tales but they give a lot to the story. I dont think there is material fro mthe Silmarillion. And that's the only fault of the movies they get a little boring at some points (99 riddles with Gollum and chatting with the Dragon for 10 minutes)

I've followed Tolkien very closely. The movies are good MOVIES, but not good considering the book and what Peter Jackson can do. They were a big disappointment for me and for others. They just didn't stick with the spirit of the book.

HermioneGranger 608
And they were great for even more, what's your point? My point is that they were a disappointment, that's how it is. I'm not a Tolkien hater, I LOVE Tolkien. I don't think they are great for us who know what Peter Jackson can do and for those who have read to book for others I guess the movies are good, but not for me. Azor Ahai 18,861
Because of ignorant people. Everyone who has seen one Hobbit and one Lotr film can understand which one was put more effort in making and was better.

Honey, don't talk to me about Tolkien using the word ''us''. I can tell with confidence that I've readden more of him than you and not because I know how much you know about him but because I know how much I know about him. I've readden all his work regarding Middle Earth and when I say all I mean even his letters. The Hobbit isn't even as good as his other works to begin with. It's a very important piece of literature that was written aprox 100 years ago and for a kids tale it's very high quality but as a book it is not that good. All the great dialogues exist in the movies as well and the movies don't lack many things of the book and they also have many things that the book doesn't.
